What to do with Amiibos

I bought the 3-pack online before the game came out, and then bought the singles along with the game on launch day.

Of the 3-pack and the pair of singles, I want to keep one sealed as a collectible and open the other to use in the game.
I would like the gear rewards from the boy and the girl amiibos, but the squid ones I am not dying to have.
So if I don't open the 3-pack, watching the squid amiibo challenges on youtube or something will be enough for me.

You could always import a squid amiibo if you want to use one for opening.
