The music in Splatoon might be my favorite thing about it. It's so good.

(the gap between Blitz It! and the other songs should be way larger, because it is hands down my favorite song by a longshot)

For Splatoon music, I love ROTM's single player music. Like...all of it. The overworld music, the stage music, the boss music, it's the best in the series imo.

In general, I really like 70s prog rock (e.g., Pink Floyd, Yes), Eurodance, Jazz, The Beatles, Devo, Kenny Loggins, Paul Simon, David Bowie, Cheap Trick, and a lot of other bands I can't think of off the top of my head. Generally I grew up listening to a lot of music from the 60s-90s so my tastes align a lot to music from that period. Probably why I like ROTM's music so much since it's styled after 80s pop.

I'll list my favorites from each game, with the number I list being equal to the game's number mainly because it gets harder to not mention songs as it goes on.

Splatoon: Ink Me Up. This occasionally is my brains's background music and honestly it couldn't pick many better songs.

Splatoon 2: Blitz It! and Fly Octo Fly. Chirpy Chips are one of my favorite bands, and this is one of their best songs.

Splatoon 3: Spectrum Obligato, Rainbow Color Inkantation, and Seasource. There's so many great songs in this game, but these take the cake for me. I really like that Spectrum Obligato is adaptive music and only gets to the second part when you've broken 2-3 of the boss portals. Rainbow Color Inkantation manages to be the best Calimari Inkantation while also having references to 4 other songs, and adapting the music based on who was winning the Tricolor Battle. Plus the Team Past section is great!

I love these choices! Fly Octo Fly is so cinematic, but my only slight issue is that I think the Ebb and Flow chorus works better as the climax after the buildup, as opposed to fast paced leading into the slower section like it does in Fly Octo Fly. Great song still. And I love the Spectrum Obligato mention because given how often you hear it you want it to sound good and boy does it!

Also I love the Blitz It! nomination because it's my favorite song in the Splatoon discography by a large margin.
