When do you Booyah?

Im curious when do yall actually use the booyah button in game?

• beginning of a match for good luck/morale, even if i'm playing with my actual literal team and we're all on vc it's just ingrained into my muscle memory at this point
• usually when my team gets a wipeout on the other team. this is also a reflex at this point so sometimes i will be the one to cause the wipeout and i won't even realize that was me i'll just hit down on the dpad
• if somebody saves me from imminent death (in pvp or in salmon)
• similarly, if someone revives me quickly in salmon run
• my muscle memory gave out for a second and i had to think about which button was This way! and which was Booyah! and i hit the wrong one

If someone booyahs at the start of the match, I'll usually booyah back. When I play as Hydra, I'm often leeching off of some frontline's paint trail for at least a little bit on my way to snipe so I got plenty of time to booyah back.

Also on the few occasions when I'm doing team practice and my voice is gone for one reason or another, I like to use booyah as the "I got special ready!" signal. Usually said special is booyah bomb, so it feels quite intuitive!

Whenever I or somebody else does a really good play.

If we're winning and there's no chance of overtime or we're winning and overtime is about to be over (And we have the objective secured), I just spam the d-pad just because.

Outside of using it for Booyah Bomb, I just use it whenever I feel like it.
Maybe I get a funny trade, I do something stupid like falling off the map, I notice that one of my teammates went on an insane kill streak so I booyah to hopefully let them know that I recognized the insane play they just made, or something else like waiting for the match to be over since we know we're going to win already.

I do it when someone else says it, at the beginning of a match, booyah bomb, and wipeout on the other team. Also when I'm sniping and splat someone, or sniping and see my teammate splat someone who I was targeting. I like to try and stay positive during a match. :D

can confirm at least one person does this because ive been the confused but supportive teammate across the map LOL i just see an out of context booyah and go "idk why we're booyahing. but Booyah!"

I'll "Booyah!" immediately at the start of about half of my matches, at Booyah Bombs (even when I'm down and my input means nothing), when my team causes a Wipeout (I do NOT "Booyah!" when we get wiped), in response to "Refreshing!" notifications (my favorite :) ), in response to another "Booyah!", in Turf War lobbies, while mixing up signals, or any number of other circumstances... unless I'm playing CRB or Dread Wringer. Then I only "Booyah!" at wipeouts and particularly good plays.

I use booyah when someone helps me out with a fight or otherwise makes an important play. If someone does it at the start of the match or I know someone on my team then I do it there too. Booyah Bombs are obvious.

Also I've fallen into the habit of spamming it when I get particularly tilted but we don't need to talk about that...

-as soon as I launch from the spawner at the start of every match. I don't have to worry about taking time away from swimming because I haven't even landed yet
-if I'm afk at the start of the match cause of controller issues or something then I'll booyah when I start actually playing to let my team know I'm alive
-if someone saves me from imminent death
-if I save someone else from imminent death and they booyah first
-if we do a really good play and get a numbers advantage (this includes wipeouts)
-if I ouch ping to tell my team the person who splatted me is still nearby, I'll booyah if my team splats him back
-when we're about to win and the other team can't possibly stop us
-when there's a booyah bomb active, whether I'm alive or not (because yes, booyahs count towards booyah bombs even when you're splatted. the most recent patch notes even address this; they made it so you can't booyah immediately after dying except when there is a booyah bomb active, so it doesn't stop you from charging the booyah bomb)

I realized I didn't actually answer the question but pretty much any time I have an excuse to. I also have it ingrained into my muscle memory for the beginning of the match no matter what, same with wipeouts. Also in the last few seconds of a match that we've obviously secured the win on. Sometimes in the last few seconds of a game we didn't win but I feel like we fought really hard on anyway (though I have since learned that some people read this as sarcastic/toxic which... ugh, whatever, I don't have time to worry about peoples' bitter poor-faith readings of me expressing joy.)

what else....anytime someone saves me/plays well off me (that I notice, which I wish I noticed more). When I get revived in salmon (most of the time at least, salmon is so chaotic sometimes), when someone booyahs at me (or I assume it's at me, I might be wrong, I am probably also the clueless person booyahing because it's what everyone else is doing).. um... when I am panic-jumping out of a situation (I am finally getting that combination into my muscle memory a little), at the end of every salmon wave. also at the start of every salmon wave (sometimes not every wave but at least at the start of the shift), just, all the time. I mis-input it a lot too (which at least isn't as bad as mis-inputting 'this way' and having someone respond to something that isn't real.)

Sometimes when my salmon run coworkers ignore all my booyahs I feel inclined to make an extra effort to booyah their good plays, special uses, etc.; workplace morale is important! About half the time I start getting responses eventually and it feels like the whole mood of the shift improves. Sometimes I think they're just annoyed at me but y'all life is too short to let people who find your joy 'annoying' control your behavior in any way (this applies to other aspects of life too).
