Which Weapon would Suit me?

Ok

So at the moment in ranked I'm B/B+, and it's really frustrating because in S1 I was A+ with the SSPro.

My problem is that I just can't seem to make any weapon work. Even my trusty ol' Splattershot Pro has failed me.

I've tried every single category, however my conscience simply won't let me use the Tri Slosher or the Octobrush, and other weapons haven't worked for various reasons (for example the inkbrush makes my hands hurt when I play it).

I've found myself incredibly salty after losing with weapons that I used to be good with, and I often find myself blaming my teammates.

I've been thinking about using the Bamboozler when it comes out, but until then I'm really at a loss.

Suggestions as to which weapons I could use are welcome; I enjoy playing support, but the problem with that is that I can't carry my team.

Is the best thing for me to just take a break from the game for a while?

Jet squelcher is maybe the best support weapon in the game (or one of the best at least). If you like the SSP, that could be an easy transition. .96 gal as well.

What weapons have you tried and not liked? And why didn't you like them? Might be worth knowing a little more about the reasons you didn't like some weapons.

Also list what abilities you normally run. People that use your weapons, or the weapons you want to use, can give insight on what gear build has great synergy with each weapon.

An example I can give for my main, SSP, is having ink saver main, swim speed and bomb defense for mains. X6 special charge sub, 2 subs of ink saver main and one sub run speed.

....still testing thermal ink however.

I run gear depending on which weapon I'm using lol.

Generally I like swim speed.

I've been considering the .96 Gal and the Dynamo (one of my favorites in S1), but I'm level 19 atm so...

I don't know why the SSPro doesn't work for me anymore (maybe the point sensor changes?)

I tried blasters, but only really had any success on Tower Control, I tried sniping, more moderate success, but I felt that was kinda encroaching on my squad mate (and one of my best friend)'s space.

I struggle to use anything with short range, so maybe a splatling would work for me? - not sure how sniper-splatling would work on a team.

And the list continues.

I really think you'll enjoy the jet squelcher if that's the case. It has a fantastic support kit, and its range helps you: 1. Keep all enemies except chargers and splatlings at bay. 2. Kill sloshers and blasters when your mid-range teammates might have trouble with them.

It lacks power, but once you adjust to just how much range you have, you start to love it.

The dual-squelcher may also be your thing, but it's less of a support weapon.

Also, the NZap could work since its kit has armor and can get to it quickly. It's also fairly good at inking. Still, with its shorter range, you may not want to go that route.

I would try automatic weapons with high range, you dont need to carry your team its also important to keep the pressure on the enemy team. Stay on max distance and keep them seperated, fokus on player who try to flank your group and stay behind your line.

You'll probably like the Forge Pro that's releasing in a few days. Load up on Ink Recovery Up and you can play Bomb support, and with Special Charge Up you can frequently support your team with Bubbles!

Heavy Splatling is a good weapon, it can be used for both support (long ranged suppressing fire/stingray bullying) and helping with pushes (you only need a small charge-up to be lethal!)

Despite its range and needing to charge, it doesn't usually get in the way of snipers, because it plays as more of a ranged gun than a sniper. Again, once you get the hang of partial-charging to hold off/splat opponents at mid-range, it becomes a very powerful tool. Definitely give it a try if you haven't already
