I had the idea a long time ago for a shooter that would exchange fire rate for range as you continued to hold down the fire button. That might encroach on Ballpoint or Squeezer's territory a little, and I'm sure there are more creative shooter ideas, but there may be potential. Perhaps even...
TIL that in Salmon Run, the end of wave 10-second countdown in the middle of the screen is red or green depending on whether you've hit quota (I somehow missed that detail until now).
I've never played or watched tf2 so I unfortunately don't have a good frame of reference for why that's apparently the case. What about the game design allows for that to happen? You go into it a little by mentioning the limited options of Splat 3's maps but I would be interested in more detail.

Friday player here, because that's what my friend group picked. We didn't see sunday a single time. Otherwise an average splatfest with some wins and losses, went 2-2 on 10x battles with no higher multipliers. I only played to get to ruler so not much to say.
Dunno if these are good ideas, but I spat out an assortment of changes for the Splattercolor Screen in my head a few days ago:
* Visual/audial effects are toned down to become more of a visual indicator than an impairment.
* The Splattercolor Screen is translucent when it belongs to your team.

Played it with two friends last night, after being stuck on 206 for an hour or 2 ended on a high score of 222. I played dynamo and my friends played splash and sblast. The random that we got paired with would get squiffer.
First wave is free, just don't let any snatchers get away since we lost...
