A beginner's guide to Range Blaster! - Wanted to try Range? Start here!

General Description:
Range Blaster is probably the blaster with the highest weaknesses, but greatest strengths. It's large blasts are designed to hit at a distance and around corners and walls. It also has a hard-to-hit one-shot that requires a lot of skill to learn, and much more to master. It's a very slow weapon, even for being Middleweight, and can only shoot 9 times before having to refill.

Strategies:
Beginner:
Start by trying to only hit the indirects, learn your range, and try to...

Good guide for the basics. 4 short tips I would add:

-use suction bomb sparingly (especially when not under the effects of comeback), it doesn't leave you enough shots to be able to fight usually so don't use it if you feel you may have to fight soon.

-get used to jumping to teammates when in bad positions, range is slow and can sometimes find itself in vulnerable/claustrophobic positions where its quicker and safer to jump to a teammate than try and swim out.

-at high level almost every range uses some variation of Comeback, Stealth Jump, 1 main 3 subs QR, 3 subs IA, 1 sub IR and 2 subs QSJ right now. Experimenting with different builds is not bad at all, but I would recommend trying the "meta" gear and seeing how it fits you before you figure out what variation works the best for you.

-in competitive play, call out places you would like to push to your frontline teammates. Range is great at starting fights because when it gets the first shot on an enemy, they instantly take only 1-2 shots for your teammates to finish off but you are vulnerable to being collapsed on or baited when you push someone alone. Playing with a frontline allows you to make their life easier by weakening people for them to clean up and killing long range weapons who might be attempting to space them out, while they make your life easier by killing short range enemies who attempt to rush you down.

Yes, I agree, especially with the Jumping out. With even just 2 subs of QSJ the time it takes for the jump to start (and therefore, gives you invincibility) goes from 80 frames, which is more than a second, to 50, which is usually faster then most people can react to.
