Alternate kit beauty contest

I'm rolling with this title let's do it.

I got this idea yesterday while working on my... gripping... recycled brella fanfiction. What's your favourite second kit, looks wise at least? Your favourite alternate skin, if you will.

Now this can be chosen with a bunch of different criteria I'll simplify to slay factor . How high is your weapon's slay factor? Which is your favourite, your least favourite, or your biggest disappointment?

Guess I'll start, I can't get enough of the Recycled Brella Mk II, it's so good

The almost golden yellow handle, the purple cap, the design on the canopy, ugh. Perfect, it's amazing. Helps that yellow and purple are some of my favourite colours.

Ah, ZiMi. Current headliner of the splatling class. People don't take nearly enough time to respect its brilliant, streamlined color scheme. Black and white accentuating a beautiful shade of dark teal. Then the tiny spots of bright blue to round it out. Perfection.

Especially compared to... whatever this is:

The standard yellow-and-purple Splat color scheme is not a good look for Mini, I think we can all agree on that.

How does .96 deco not say SLAY? The mix between the bright pink for the handle, the white and darker pink dots for the deco logo, if this thing doesn't walk around with long nails and a handbag, I don't know what does. And don't even get me started with the kit. Unlike a lot of prettier weapons, it has a near perfect kit for it with Splash wall and Kraken Royale. For example, the Foil squeezer. Great main weapon, the white and green color scheme is pretty good, but it falls flat with the kit. Splat bomb worked well on it in Splatoon 2 when it had bubble blower, and splat bomb could insta-pop them. In Splatoon 3, it has splatter color screen. Which doesn't look nice, nor is it healthy for the game. (I may have focused too much on the kits.. also this felt like an ad lol)

I love the changes they made to Sloshing Machine Neo in S3. It's such an improvement from what it used to look like and gives the weapon this "slick" look.
Something I could also say about most of the Neo weapon kits.
My favorite parts of the design have to be the backside being changed from white to black and the little Neo logo right under the handle.
The entire weapon just appears a lot more "relaxed" and "chill" to me compared to vMachine which is especially true when they showcase it with the color blue.


Now look at what Machine Neo used to be.

Ok, so I'm gonna differentiate betwen Slaaay~ and slay

for the first category I present: The Heavy Splatling Deco

Look at her! All dolled up and bedazzled like a true queen! The glitter! The glamour! The bold pink! This is a girl who knows her worth!

For the second category I give you: The Heavy Edit Splatling Nouveau

Now looking at this image you might think? What? That's it? They made the already slick looking white box boring and grey? This doesn't slay at all!
But ohohoho, the magic of the Edit Nouveau is a hidden one. For when she's actually being wielded by someone she shows her true colours!

The ammo box changes colour! Not only that, it's all shiny and metallic! The gloss and gleam of the Edit's ammo box is truly captivating. And yeah, it goes from a semi-translucent plastic box to a high-quality metal one! An upgrade not just in looks but also material! Beautiful. Gorgeous. Fantastic.


Honorary mention to the Zink Mini Splatling. Would highlight it too, but someone else already did it and it would be quite unfair of me to let one Splatling hog all the spotlight UwU

Charcoal Decav, neo machine and Edit Nouveau were already mentioned, but they are kits I really like lookwise, though I do prefer V machine over neo.

For the actual weapons I want to mention, I really like the golden color of Painbrush Nouveau, it's a really simple recolor, but I think it works very well to contrast the regular silver look, similar to Dynamo and Gold Dynamo.

The other weapon I want to mention is Foil Flingza, the change to blue just really suits the weapon, and Flingza just looks very good on its own, nothing more.

Also despite liking the beads on 96 Deco, I think it's the worse version of the 2 just because it obscures the filter part of the weapon which is one of my favorite aspects of the weapon's look. The beads are good though I just think the vanilla one looks better lol.

I ADORE the look of the sorella brella
the black and yellow, the simplistic design, PUFFERFISH!!!
And best of all this one doesn't have a foil logo on the handle which the vanilla one does for whatever reason
