The following are just a few ideas to expand upon the drawing feature in Splatoon:

Designing gear from a plain white, gray, or black template:

-The drawing feature in this use case would be very restrictive & limited on what can be drawn.

-For a certain amount of coins, players could draw their own designs from a more restrictive version of the existing drawing feature in Splatoon 3.

-This will have an icon of an artist’s brush which starts off fully filled, and will slowly deplete as colors are used to draw designs.

-There is also a word character limit, and a filter of potentially offensive words/phrases. (overall this is more akin to generic templates, canvases, and colors from the Able Sisters in Animal Crossing games)

-And, given an unprecedented amount of super sea snails, Murch could take an existing clothing item from the game selected by the player and allow them to import one colored design into it from the more restrictive drawing feature. (just like how sellers can mix designs in shirts, shoes, and headgear in real life)

-Like Amiibo gear, players cannot purchase personalized gear from SplatNet or from another player in Splatsville.

Using the SplatNet App to Design Splatfest Rewards:

-Nintendo could hold a contest where users that have created different personalized designs could submit them via the SplatNet App in a sweepstakes towards a Splatfest reward.

-After designs are approved for offense and explicits, users would vote on this attire up until the Splatfest comes to an end.

-The highest voted design would be the winning side's prize in a Splatfest! (as well as super sea snails as a participation consolation for everyone)

Sending direct artwork:

-People could use the drawing feature to send direct artwork made from this feature to others’ via their drawing inboxes. (rather than solely on social media)

-Aside from the sheer creativity of artwork as a novel gift to others, this could instead be used as a form of communication towards friends. There would be options for limiting artwork to prevent spam, such as only receiving artwork from friends. Furthermore, there could be a setting where artwork cannot be sent at all or received to a person’s drawing inbox. (which would prevent spam mail altogether) Xbox/Twitch’s "potentially offensive message" system could also be invoked in order to prevent verbal harassment towards others.

Hint Art:

-Nintendo could even get in on this artwork mechanic by sending players illustrations based off of special days and events.

-What I'm thinking off the top of my head could be Super Mario Odyssey's "Hint Art" which were drawings that had a hidden meaning behind them.

-Nintendo could use this as a mini game to hide different forms of Easter Eggs; such as messages, story lore, news stories, references from other Nintendo games, & etc. content throughout Splatsville, from the square all the way throughout the plaza. (this could even be used to tease future updates for the game)

Customizing parts of Splatsville using Splatoon's drawing to create wall-art and graffiti text:

-This was slightly introduced in Splatoon 2 in the Grizzco alleyway, as well as a few areas around Inkopolis, but this sort've graffiti drawing feature could be further expanded upon, allowing players to add some more falvor and design to their Splatsville/Inkopolis without needing to rely on an event such as a Splatfest or Big Run for a remodel.

Postcards/PO Booklet:

-Players can utilize the drawing feature to write captions and draw on existing screenshots or clips they have in-game or on their Nintendo Switch.

-Whether this be a 100X snapshot on a boarded float, or a captured moment of friends on a stage. (100X/10X captures could also be stored within the drawing feature's PO Box)

-Perhaps there could even be a photoshoot/scrapbook of the most cherished memories within the PO Box of where the drawing feature is located at.

While this feature could be great on paper, I don't trust people to keep the designs kid-friendly, which is a shame because Nintendo would definitely remove that creative aspect if some bad apples were to ruin it for everybody else. This is coming from someone who would really like this feature to show my OCs without having to change up my character in-game.

I totally understand that. ^ People doing weird things would be too much of a liability with the drawing feature in terms of directly sending artwork and words to others in-game, as well as making designs for gear. ^
