Nah, actually my first pokemon game was X+Y and I was ok with them, though I got bored fast since some people that were rude to me shoved them down my throat.
I used to have really old ones too because they were handmedowns, but I sold them & never got a chance to play them.
That aside, there's still the obvious fact I wish that the games were more taking-care-of-cute-pokemon oriented over being battle oriented, but shrugs.
