it's weird that the Octo Ponytail sticks through the cap but the Inkling Topknot doesn't. The only plausible explanation is that the Captain's Cap Replica was added very hastily. An update can fix it, though.

Yeah, it's weird that it doesn't, especially since they literatelly have the male Captain having his Topknot poking through the real version of the cap.
