my current anarchy ratio is 18/31... and i've been feeling okay about my recent play. ouch.
though some of that might be that a friend and i jumped into a TC rotation on robo rom-en last night and then realized we, uh, didn't know the tower path on that map and were constantly losing track of where the opposing team had taken it...
honestly i think being concerned about how your numbers compare to others' numbers alone... is neither helpful for mindset nor actual gameplay. 'cause, like, with the question of 'is my W/L ratio normal' there's two answers you can get:
- no, it's not 'normal' - in which case you just feel worse about your skills to no benefit
- yes, everybody's ratio looks like that - which helps boost your self esteem in the moment, but if you're still losing a ton and getting frustrated, it doesn't really help beyond that, yknow?
i don't really think there's a 'normal' W/L ratio to worry about. every player's ratio is gonna look different, and the same player's ratio will look different on different days. to repeat some of what has been said, maybe you're having some off days, maybe splatoon's matchmaking system is pitting you against experienced players or a coordinated team, maybe you still aren't used to the weapon you're using,
maybe you didn't realize the tower path on robo rom-en does not take opponents straight to your team's spawn but over to the LEFT, maybe you're thinking too hard about your loss streak while playing and it's impacting your play... there's so many factors that can go into if you win or lose games, and skill is just one of those
it might be helpful to put overall results aside for a second and try to understand
why you're losing games, or how you can improve. and, yeah, 'all the casual players left' might be an answer, but i mean more along the lines of... if you look at your replays, can you find any patterns (e.g. you're trying to approach the objective a specific way each time and just getting splatted for it)? since you're playing a new weapon, have you tried looking into youtube tutorials or just footage of more experienced players using that weapon?
as a disclaimer, i am... not a competitive player but someone who wants to be one. so i approach the game as somebody who always wants to improve. maybe you're not looking for that - maybe you play casually, and your goal is less 'get better every day' and more 'lose less often so that this game i play for fun can stop being frustrating instead'. so some of my advice might seem like more effort than you want to put into
studying a game you play casually. and that's fine! but take what you want away from my rambling.
