You took that seriously? That was (or should have been) an over exaggeration of my feeling for people that bring known terrible weapons into S+ Ranked. If you want a serious piece of advice, I'll say the same thing. Don't play awful weapons. It's as simple as that.
Tone doesn't carry across in text very well, so if that was a joke I and no one else thought of it as such, you just sounded like one of those people that actually DO demand that people only use meta weapons... Which was funny considering you main the Jet Squelcher, something that's viable but not meta :P Maybe not the best place to "exaggerate" when someone's asking for help.

It sounds like you're the slayer on your team, which is great if that works for you, but if you're getting that many splats you're not playing the objective and as such still likely to lose if the enemy gets one good push. Your advice isn't exactly applicable to someone still learning the game, especially since you say nothing about HOW to achieve those kills or win matches. "git gud" is both shorter and more punchy if that's what you're going for :p
Yup that's my 31. :P ! I'm not proud that it's in C-... I mean that was during my "tests" of rank skipping.

You're right about my play style. I only go for the objective if I notice that my team can't do it. However, I have noticed that pushing splats like that actually helps me win more games than I ever have before.

This is shorter lol:

You sure did sound proud of it until I pointed out it was from brutalizing newbies ;) My points stand, not everyone's going to be a slayer like you.

Hehehe, I'm glad they won't be slayers. More than one and the game is lost. :)

I don't think I stand very well in the C- community. (Just glad I won't be playing in that bracket anymore. I finished my Rank skipping ) :P

Here is a quick list of weapons I hate seeing on my team:
Flingza Roller
Foil Flingza Roller
Any Inkbrush
Carbon Roller
Goo Tuber
Tentabrella

I think that's it for now, but it may lengthen or shrink depending on patches and so on.
And I somehow forgot the worst of them all.

Don't

Play

Aerospray

Thank you.

I have done it all maining non-meta (aka new squiffer), and meta and have to admit the best thing you can poasibly do is not have a main

I do have a list of "main" weapons, however these are weapons I love to mess around with more than focus on being the best with. Due to this I have all sorts of weapons and done fairly well with all them (except the googla duelies tbh)

In my solo queue and league career I have used tentabrella in RM, flingza in SZ, goo tube in almost everymode, I even went S to S+ in clam blitz using the CE-liter.
.
Understanding each teaches you something about yourself and helps you see where you need to improve....without a "main" view getting in the way of making better decisions.

So If are playing the game and truly desire to get better than don't ever limit yourself, not now not ever.

This. I have my roster of mains that I tend to lean on, but I'm always open to trying new things. It's a good attitude to have!

I wouldn't say "have no main" is a good idea. I'd say the best thing you could do is pick a main for each mode or so, but no more than 5. Too few weapons will make you unaware of the weaknesses and advantages each possesses, but too many will not allow you to get good enough with a single weapon.

“Brutalizing newbies” is my favorite take away from this thread.

I also liked Thatsquidyouknow’s bit about relaxing. It’s hard for me to get out of the competitive mindset from overwatch and I carried it over to this.

I think the advice sticking to me is not worrying so much about everything and having fun with a weapon I enjoy, regardless of what I cycle through. Now when I go hard in Ranked that will be a different story though

Guilty as charged. :p :)
Don't make a habit of it and the community won't blacklist you ;)

Be competitive, casual, tryhard or anything in between, the important thing is that you enjoy yourself. Some of us enjoy screwing around and others enjoy treating it like gladiator combat, figure out where your feelings lie and roll with it :D

If you're coming from OW you've probably heard the phrase one trick. Basically, don't lock yourself into that mindset of only having one weapon or character you can use. You gotta learn to swap around when one weapon isn't working. You'll eventually develop preferences for what weapons you prefer but for now, just experiment and more importantly, have fun! Good luck in the ranked mode, as long as you remember to keep your weapon arsenal diverse, you'll be fiiiine. Have fun!

I mean I understand the "don't main a weapon" talk. But in reality I feel like you should stick to something you're good with in ranked matches. It's sort of a similar point made by @The Salamander King , but instead of using what everyone else says is good, use what you like to use/are good with.

But these weapons are not awful...

I would never bring it to ranked (I would get slaughtered) but the aerospray RG is one of my best weapons; I have a superfresh +18 rating with it. I also do well with the tenta brella; the key is using the tent.

How? I can see you're reasoning for Tenta (which wouldn't be on here if it's painting was a little better) and I've played around with Goober (not in ranked) and they both have potential. The other weapons. Ehhhhhh, not so much.
Because everyone has a different opinion? Seriously, you can’t just assume that if you think something sucks then everyone does. Even the worst things in life have someone that likes them.

The reasons I put these weapons here is because they are objectively worse than other similar weapons. Let's take the Inkbrush for example. The Inkbrush moves fast, but does very little else that the Octobrush doesn't do 1000x better. It's not even just my opinion. everyone on the competitive side agrees with me. I don't care what people like or don't like, I'm here to deliver the truth and if people can't handle it then that's just too bad.

I don't know Squiggly. From a competitive players POV, I think they suck too.

(Don't hurt me. lol)

Why play slayer and not support or support and not slayer when you can use a weapon that can do BOTH?

(I love the Splattershot Pro, often get 15+ Splats if we're on the topic)
Yeah, I use the N-ZAP 85 with all Special Charge up mains, and all ink recovery up subs. I use the ink armour for a support role and the N-ZAP in my opinion has enough range that you're not over powered, and enough damage that you get a quick splat. I don't like weapons like the Splattershot pro and Jet Squelcher because people use those to hide behind range because they tend to die easily. They are good weapons nonetheless, but I personally dislike that many people use them for the range.

Let me give you one good reason not to only have one main:

NERFS

I’m a successful S+ rapid blaster player I live in perpetual fear of my baby being nerfed. As a result i’ve had to branch out into other (less salty and violently attacked) weapons such as the clash blaster and the N zap 86 to ensure if the worst comes to the worst I can still function at that high a level.

So two lessons:

1. Branch out so that a sudden nerf doesn’t spell your doom.

2. PLEASE STOP SAYING THAT THE RAPID REQUIRE NO SKILL
