New Splatoon 2 Update Coming Mid-March

Reported earlier today by MyNintendoNews, Splatoon 2 players should expect an incoming update arriving sometime in the middle of next month.

"Nintendo has announced that Splatoon 2 will be getting its next update in the middle of March. Nintendo didn’t say much about the update’s contents. There will be no new content added to the game, but the company says that they will be making some balance adjustments." ​

Although new content would have been welcome, multiplayer fans should be happy to see continued gameplay changes.

 

They are probably waiting to announce the new content after the championship.

I predict another buff for the ELitre that still doesn't give it the Splatoon 1 range.
Further reduced lag while short range shooters come out of squid-form to fire. You can now increase your rate of fire beyond the weapon's normal limits by teabagging incessantly.
And another three Ballpoint nerfs, selected at random.

At this point in the game's life? No, I believe all new content is done with some minor exceptions such as Salmon Run gear. There was some datamining going on and they found prototype game modes involving rockets and such, but nothing should come of that this time around.
