I tried writing a longer thread, but I ended up accidentally closing the page, and I refuse to write a post from a saved draft because the spacing is all wrong, but the saved draft pop-up is starkly refusing to go away and it's making it hard for me to write. I therefore need to post something to get rid of it. Something short enough to write in a single sitting. Therefore; this.
Yet another thread that seems as though it should exist by now. If you could only pick one weapon from each class to give a third kit, which ones would you pick and what kits would you give them? You can't give a weapon a sub or special it already has on a different kit.

Here's my list:

Shooters: L-3 Nozzlenose | Suction Bomb | Inkjet
L-3 Nozzlenose and Inkjet is a past kit that's more than worthy of returning. Sadly, Burst Bomb was taken, but Suction definitely works.

Rollers: Big Swig Roller | Torpedo | Zipcaster
I've made Big Swig an aggressive weapon. With its massive horizontal flicks, it can consistently follow up on Zipcaster's splash damage.

Chargers: Bamboozler 14 | Ink Mine | Crab Tank
I need this kit. Ink Mine combos perfectly with Bamboozler, and Crab Tank helps it deal with its main weakness; longer ranged threats.

Sloshers: Dread Wringer | Torpedo | Crab Tank
The kit that Dread deserved from the start. Torpedo is a fantastic combo and Crab Tank is Crab Tank. It does anything it needs to.

Splatlings: Mini Splatling | Curling Bomb | Super Chump
A callback to the Zink Mini kit from Splatoon 2, except better. Curling has a number of uses, but it mainly gets the weapon to its Chumps.

Dualies: Dualie Squelchers | Point Sensor | Tacticooler
Splatoon 2 vSquelchers taught us that the weapon works well with Point Sensor and doesn't need a bomb to get enough of its special.
I don't really care about Dapple Dualies; really, I'm afraid of the havoc they could wreak if they had a good kit. No Zooka Dapples from me.

Brellas: Recycled Brella 24 | Burst Bomb | Crab Tank
What a surprise. Burst Bomb is Burst Bomb and Crab Tank is Crab Tank. The kit works with anything, especially flexible Recycled Brella.

Blasters: Blaster | Fizzy Bomb | Inkjet
This was a hard choice since every blaster has a decent kit. Fizzy on vBlaster is something I've wanted for a while, though. So there it is.

Brushes: Inkbrush | Autobomb | Tacticooler
Another Permanent Inkbrush, now with an actual sub weapon! It could be good, but really, I just don't want it to get something like Zooka.

Stringers: Wellstring V | Squid Beakon | Ink Storm
The perfect kit for Wellstring both thematically and synergy-wise. It can double down on both its paint and chip damage with Ink Storm.

Splatanas: Splatana Stamper | Fizzy Bomb | Kraken Royale
A harder choice than blasters. Fizzy Kraken Stamper wouldn't be better than the Burst Zip one, but it'd be really, very cool, you must admit.

You're welcome to post your own ideas below.
Have a wonderful day.
This was not nearly as quick as I was expecting it to be...

My idea with these kits was to target the least played among each weapon type, I don't think most weapons *need* a third kit because they have at least one really good one but some are just hated by the world.

Gold Hydra - Burst | Big Bubbler
Burst gives it the ability to quickly paint and Big Bubbler gives it survivability, I'll never not be mad that Custom Hydra got Wall instead of Bubbler

S-Blast '90 (The handle, barrel, scope and body are all colored like the Super Famicom controller) - Suction Bomb | Tacticooler
I just want this because I think the idea of the S-Blast looking like the Super Famicom controller is cool, also no Blaster has had Cooler yet.

Soy Gootuber - Curling Bomb | Inkjet
I wanted Fizzy but the Custom kit stole that, Inkjet just gives it some entry

Graffiti Sploosh-o-Matic - Point Sensor | Zipcaster
The rats can have a little Zip as a treat for putting up with Wail and Stamp, Point Sensor helps it track opponents that run out of it's spread range

Chrome Splattershot Nova (Yes indeed I'm doing two shooters because they've both been scorned by Nintendo!) - Torpedo | Tenta Missiles
This should give it a solid zones presence, Torpedo can combo and Tenta Missiles is good on anything.

Makeup Painbrush - Bomb | Kraken
Bomb helps it poke and get opponents away during it's windup, Kraken is always good

Gemini Dapple Dualies - Fizzy Bomb | Triple Splashdown
Honestly I just want to give everything Fizzy because it's just the best, but I'll restrain and just give it to Dapples, Triple Splashdown helps it get opponents off them and they can shield their jump with it

Quenched Big Swig Roller - Bomb | Tacticooler
This just embraces the painting aspect of Big Swig, I think the main weapon is just unsalvageable. This effectively just turns it into a Cooler machine which hopefully would reduce the Pencil spam.

008 Undercover Brella - Bomb | Crab Tank
This is a (kinda) reference kit, subbing out Sorella's Baller for Crab which makes up for it's range and damage output.

Mutated Tri-Stringer - Point Sensor | Inkjet
Point helps it find enemies, Inkjet is entry

Every Splatana and Slosher are in a pretty good spot

This is actually a really fun idea!
I won't have a lot to say for most of the weapon classes but I'll explain my approach on each of the kits.
Though, I should clarify that these kits are just what I would enjoy using. I'm not focusing a lot on balance or if there's another weapon in that class that got stuck with two mediocre kits. I also won't be doing one for all weapon classes because I'm not actually sure what I would enjoy the most for all of them.

Shooters
Splash - Splat Bomb/Zipcaster
We really missed out on not getting a Splash with Zip. I wasn't sure on what sub to give it though but I figured since I wanted this to be an aggro kit then I should give it Splat Bomb. Might be a bit annoying to fight but it'll be fun to use and won't be a paint bot like Splash Neo is.

Rollers
Dynamo - Burst/Booyah Bomb
I just really want Booyah Bomb on Dynamo again and Sprinkler is already taken so Burst is the next best thing (I don't want to give it Fizzy). Would it be very annoying? Yes, it would be but again I'm not trying to be realistic here. I also think how Dynamo plays is different enough from S-Blast that it wouldn't be a problem if they shared the same kit.

Sloshers
Sloshing Machine - Torp/Crab Tank
I know most people would choose to give Dread a 3rd kit instead but after Dread D, I don't really care that much about the weapon anymore. I've actually been wanting this kit for a while now as well but I wouldn't have minded if Dread got it. It didn't though of course so if I only had to pick one slosher for it then I would give it to Machine.

Blasters
Blaster - Burst/Killer Wail 5.1
I really just wanted the Grim Range kit to be added but given to another blaster since RB already has two fine kits. Not much more else to say about it besides the fact that I just think it would be really fun and would probably make me try out Blaster for once.

Dualies
Tetra Dualies - Torp/Inkjet
I want to see Tetras with a good kit for once. I thought about TSD but they already gave it the weaker Splashdown rework so giving it Inkjet would be good for more special variety (why did no other dualie get Inkjet). If Tetras had this kit then I would probably try them out.

Alright I join in for the fun. But to challenge myself a bit more no specials can be repeated after they had been used. I tried to do it with subs too but it was just impossible to do while also having a good kit as some subs is not really good

Anyway let get to it

Nova Torp/Storm: Fun fact I did nova before for a different thread about dream kits so here it is
Scary Splattershot Nova kit.png

Basically the kit is meant to help with Nova poor damage as both the sub and special can be used to combo

Big swig Fizzy/Chump: Funnier fact I also made a kit for this weapon in another thread
Fruit Punch Big Swig Roller kit.png

Like Nova this kit is meant to combo with swig and try to make it a bit more aggro by giving it combo tools. Chumps is meant to help your team get in, and fizzy is something that swig can combo off of.

Goo tuber Suction/Screen: I got to be honest I don't really care for to much about chargers except for bamboo but bamboo already has great kits in fact this kit is just something I randomly threw together no explanations here, I'm not even sure if this has synergy NGL

Dread Wringer Torp/Crab: Even though I don't play dread I always hear how this weapon has great potential so here this kit that you already named and explained. What can I say this kit just makes dread into some sort of mid-range aggro support type of weapon.

Hydra Beakon/Bubbler: Once again I made a kit for this weapon in another thread
Emergency Hydra Splatling kit.png

Hydra doesn't really want to have a bomb that stops it from firing. With this kit Hydra can set up beakons in different areas so their teams has multiple ways to jump in including the Hydra itself, and bubbler Hydra can pop it in one area and basically become an immovable object. Also I just realized that it's spelled beakon and not beacons because of the fact the cephalopods have beaks. It took me 8 years to notice this.

Dapples Splat bomb/Zooka: Once again I made a kit for this weapon but this time it's from a while ago
Clear Dapple Dualies Kit.png

I recently been playing dapples a bit more and I remember how mid its kits are. Splat bomb is splat bomb its just a good generalist bomb, and zooka is a good tool to deal with long range enemies. This also makes dapples a better skirmisher as now you either have to try a fight them while they're chucking lethal bombs at you, or you can ignore them only to get his by a stray zooka.

Recycle Burst/Booyah: Recycle from what I heard and seen plays less to its shield and more to its strong damage output, so how bout a little more? Which is what burst is for a combo tool that can make recycle one shot anybody if done well. Booyah bomb is meant to give this weapon a little survivability as it needs it due to its weak shield

Clash Burst/TSD: I can honestly give an entire presentation about how sad and pathetic this weapon is, but just know it got splat bomb zooka, and it still struggles. So here, a kit that clash can play off of and actually pose a threat towards the enemies. Burst is a combo tool that helps with its dps and TSD is a special that not only combo with burst but also with clash. Its lack of endlag also makes it so that clash can make a quick escape or follow up. It is not going to make this weapon top or even high tier, but it will at least pose a threat somewhat. yes brian I mean everything I say about clash I don't hate it. its just weak.

Pain Auto/Jet: Auto bomb is a cheap sub that doesn't take away to much ink from pain and jet is a good tool for killing enemies out of reach and also is a great follow up tool that pain can use when it hit someone over the ledge.

Reeflux Burst/Cooler: Reeflux as a weapon just deserves better so I gave it this. Like I mentioned a million times before in this comment the sub can combo with reeflux and finish off enemies. The special is something that reef can not only farm quickly but also play off of since the special makes it faster and more deadly.

Wiper Auto/Kraken: Lastly but certainally not least wiper. At this point I'm tired and can't think straight since. so here a quick explanation. Auto is something that wiper can throw out and force people to try and avoid while fighting wiper and Kraken is a good tool that punishes players for not looking at you. Like dapples I think this kit fits perfectly with wiper skirmisher playstyle.

I spent way to much time thinking about this so yea here it is.

H-3 with Autobomb and (if it existed in splat 3) echolocater, bubble blower, or the more realistic Tenta missles. It needs some Chip damage and location. Also I want it to be GOOODDDDD

Reeflux with Torp and Triple Splash would go hard tho

I want H-3 to be good too, but it’s a high-paint weapon with a decent Tacticooler kit. The weapon needs buffs more than a new kit.
I chose L-3 because it badly needs a kit that isn’t outclassed by Splash-o-Matic to see any use. That and I want to divert attention away from its immensely annoying Ultra Stamp kit.

Very cool idea here! i'll throw my hat into the ring

Shooter: Jet squelcher/Torpedo/Kraken royale
Torp is expensive burst that is good against long range and kraken forces you into short range which could be pretty interesting

Roller: Dynamo/Fizzy bomb/Killer wail 5.1
Tempered dynamo 2.0 but the parts work way better for dynamo in this game

Charger: Goo Tuber/Ink Mine/Wave Breaker
Eliters kit on goo would be a dream come true (say that five times faster) but seriously it wouldn't be picked over the other kits but would be pretty fun which is all im asking from a goo kit

Slosher: Explosher/Ink Mine/Zipcaster
OK HEAR ME OUT
Ink mine is perfect for explo its a cheap deployable that locates and tracks AND watches flanks AND keeps the zone painted
And zipcaster would combo really well with explo and you could get some really funny angles with it because you a bucket the only problem is you need spu or main savers

Splatling: Mini Splatling/Suction bomb/Inkvac
Run speed is really nice on Inkvac and mini put 2 and 2 together this kit has synergy babyyyy

Dualie: Tetra dualies/Splat Bomb/Killer wail 5.1
*dodge roll* *dodge roll* *dodge roll* *dodge roll* *pops wail* *dodge roll* *dodge roll* *dodge roll* *dodge roll*

Brella: Undercover Brella/Burst bomb/Tacticooler
Full on supportive kit that wouldn't even feel bad for making plays your self cause you have a cheap combo sub

Blaster: Range blaster/Curling bomb/Zipcaster
M o b i l e range blaster

Brush: Inkbrush/Squid beakon/Crab tank
Forget the crab for a moment a beacon on a inkbrush sounds so scary imo

Stringer: Tristringer/Splash wall/Booyah bomb
Self-preservation backline

Splatana: Devacitator/Curling Bomb/Reefslider
Very heavy dive weapon
