So, I know that there are already threads about what weapons people plan to main, but I'm more interested in how many people are choosing which weapon. For example, I'm wondering if its going to be difficult for squad leaders to find people who can cover large areas with paint because everyone is going to use a splat charger and no one is going to use a roller.

(I hope I listed everything since I hear the poll choices cant be modified)

Pretty difficult to say for sure right now. I want to say Splattershot, .52 Gal, Blaster and maybe the Quick Squiffer, but it's possible I'll change my mind once I get my hands on the game and try them all out. What I think looks interesting may not be as fun to use when I use it myself, so we'll see.

I'm hoping they're all fun in their own way. I'd love to be able to just change up what I use from time to time.

I believe there's already a thread on this but I will definitely be trying out the Splat Roller. :)

Out of the four that were in the demo, I like roller the most. It fits my aggressive play style perfectly, but I was hindered by incompetent teammates.

Put splattershot and paintbrush for now, the splattershot proved the most effective in the demo and the paintbrush is the one I like the look of that isn't playable yet

I'd vote on this poll, however, all the weapons aren't there (or at least the ones I want). Is there a limit to how many choices you can put on the poll?

Kind of hard to say right now, considering I've only had 1 hour at the game, but...

The Splat Charger seems like it would be good for Deathmatch type games. It sucked a lot on the turf wars. It just didn't cover at all.
I liked the Splattershot Jr. It was really good at putting down Rollers.
I did not like the Roller.
The Splattershot seemed too average.

sorry they aren't all listed, this was made before the direct and you cant edit poll options. just pick the item closest to what you want.

also, yes, pick as many as you want.

I'm looking to the Roller as I do like getting up close. However, a big deciding factor is going to be what the sub and special weapons for the loadouts will be.

i have a good sense for what i like. faster firing weapons or rollers. but that.52 gal & blaster or any other gun that's like a shotgun/nade launcher will be something i use a lot.

Unfortunately the game's release date is when I can first get a taste of the gameplay, but I'm hoping to play with the roller-type weapons most, specifically the Inkbrush.

I plan to main a charger, even though I'll probably use a variety of weapons, but I need to test all the options before being clear on which one I'll prefer, voting for the standard Splat Charger for now.

I think it's fine to have a favorite weapon, but "maining" a weapon in the same sense as maining a character in smash isn't optimal for a players success, particularly in a competitive setting, in shooters. You should be good enough to use each type of weapon so you and your team don;t have any options limited.

A good generalist is a great asset to any team, I agree. But a specialist is important too especially in team games, they offer insight, knowledge ,or a reliability in niche situations that generalists often times can't.

Personally, I like the Splaterscope and the Aerospray MG! They both look like awesome weapons! Cannot wait to try those out!

Just because you are good with a variety of weapons doesn't mean you're any worse than someone who chooses to only focus on one weapon. Not in the long run anyway.

When i played Balck Ops 2 league play with my friend (the competitive ranked playlist), we were both confident in each others abilities with sub machine guns, snipers or assault rifles and we weren't below the level of competition we were facing. That meant that if something wasn't working we had the option of switching weapons and adjusting without feeling like we were sacrificing ability.

Obviously in splatoon switching sets mid-game isn't an option, but between games in a tournament to adjust to a teams strategy can be key.
