Awesome! Thanks so much. I'll try that later today. If I can get the capture and the rumble right, I think this will be perfect.

That's like saying "I went to Squidboards, and a lot of people play Splatoon". That's what those forums are for, technical problems and troubleshooting.

There simply isn't a prevalent issue with the Pro Controller's left stick. You just got unlucky and are drawing conclusions based on one experience. You're free to do whatever you want with your money, but you just got unlucky.
I don't know, man. Maybe. I don't have any empirical data, so I can only go on personal experience and what I'm seeing in the forums.

I'm just saying, you could base it off more than just a forum that's used for techincal issues relating to the Switch. Like, no sh*t you're gonna find complaints about it there.

Right, but the complaints weren't like, "Hey, I had this problem, and Nintendo figured it out and fixed it..." Instead, they were like, "Hey, I sent my controller in twice already, and waited 2 months to get it back, and they finally sent it back to me and didn't fix the problem" or "Hey, I'm on my 3rd Switch Pro, and they keep breaking on me." I know the forum sample is likely to skew to the negative, but that experience seems to match what I've seen myself.

Press L1 + R1 + Share (Select) twice to turn off the rumble. Pressing it once will lower the vibration.

And there is a capture button when using a DS4. You press on the touchpad which is the giant rectangle in the middle of the controller.
Thanks so much, Mr. Chaos. I am digging the DS4. The adapter works great, and it's pretty cool being able to use just about any controller on the Switch, so I'm glad I got that just to have it.

The motion controls on the DS4 are fine. Capture button works. The rumble set to low is still kind of excessive, but not completely ridiculous like when it's set to normal. Other than that, it's very close to a Switch Pro. The only other notable difference is how the left analog stick is flipped with the left direction buttons ("d-pad"?). This makes it a little harder to do a "boo-ya"/"This way/ouch" without interrupting what you're doing. Pretty minor. You really should only do a "boo-ya" if you're in a safe place and obviously, if you're "ouch"ing, you ain't swimming. "This way"s are usually done in a safe place, like when you've broken through and your team should follow. Occasionally a "This way" means something like, "Help, I'm cornered," but not often. So for the rumble feature and the position of those buttons, the Pro is slightly better, but not a game changer. Only time will tell if the DS4 is sturdier than the Pro.
