Splatfest themes.

We know about Splatfests and how they each center across two teams named after objects and such.

In Japan, it's Rice vs. Bread
In US, it's Cats vs. Dogs
In Europe, it's Pop vs. Rock.

The first team is colored orange and is supported by Callie, while the second team is colored teal and is supported by Marie.

In this thread, we decide on other subjects to go head-to-head against each other. They all follow the same rules as above with the colors and the respective Squid Sister.
My first few ideas are:
Pirates vs. Ninjas
Vampires vs. Werewolves

Coffee vs tea will probably be one. Tea would win in Japan, but Coffee would probably win in North America. Europe is harder to guess.

This will never happen, but I'd like to see DRM vs DRM-free, or Japanese game devs vs Western game devs.

For Splatfest themes, I'd go with choices that can be made into fanart.
One of the reasons I think the EU choice of Pop or rock is lame is because you can't really draw fanart of it.

Rice and bread was amazing, such a simple thing caused so much fanart on the Web and on Mii-Verse (my favourite being Marie in a bath of bread capitationed with "is this who you want to vote for? Such disgrace")
Iv seen growing numbers of cat vs dog fan arts too so I expect more before the weekend ^^

One of my original ideas was Cadbury vs Hershy but that would be obvious marketing and would cause ocean storms... (*cough* Cadbury win)

I was thinking Ika Musume vs. Squidward, but they'd probably have to get the producers of Spongebob Squarepants's approval first. That said, it'd be interesting if they turned out to be celebrities in the Splatoon verse.

As for other themes:

Sneakers vs Sandals
Foxes vs Tanuki
Pencils vs Pens
