So I decided to do am in depth look at the latest weapon the splatbrella
Honestly this weapon is pure fun.
Playing with the ratatouille shotgun has never been so satisfying (look it up).
Anyways though a great objective defense weapon, the gear set of this weapon focuses on lockdown and turf support.
Starting off with the sub it has the sprinkler which is good for quickly securing a zone or simply boosting special charge and getting ink storm quicker, it does lose it's effectiveness after a while so get in the habit of placing one after every special use.
It is also very good on towers since it can block indirect and some direct shots that would otherwise reasult in a splat
(Could a Splatling main further educate on sprinklers or post about some tips for Splatlings)

It's special is the Inkstorm which having covered in the past forces player to give up ground, combo this into a indirect hits will force them to move quickly or be splatted by the rain. It can also help in making up for turf loss in a heavy push reopening route formerly blocked off by the enemy team

The turf they lose in this struggle then allows you to highlight this weapon main quality, lockdown.
The splatbrella is unique in that in holding down at you can open a umbrella like a personal ink armor negating slightly more than 100 damage (haven't done exact test).
As a side note enemies can't see who is behind that umbrella, allowing allies to switch position to throw off enemies on the other side.
Players can also detach the umbrella to launch about 6 (based off testing range) spaces toward, while dealing 30 damage to all in front of it allowing for a direct hit from the splatbrella, or an indirect from some rollers/ blasters to splat those caught. However it will lose some durability and other parasol launches will negate it.
Use this like the og seeker to close distance on range opponents, distract opponents, and even to save unaware allies from a distance.
Hope this info helped you and enjoy twirling your splatbrella to S+

Something I want to tap onto the splat brella since my theory was purely right on the spot.

The main shotgun of the weapon can fire right through the umbrella itself while it is released. That means you can walk with it, while firing your load towards anyone ahead of you. This tactic should be noted down pronto!

(Edit: Also learn how to shoot and shield in a simultaneously manner. Goes from shoot, to hold to shield, then repeat. This creates a phase that can counter and deflect while going towards someone.)
