You're still paying more for your own internet connection, as the game will more than likely remain peer 2 peer. We just get some retro games tacked on and game discounts to incetivize subscribers to buy more Nintendo games, all to disguise the fact you're paying extra to not be blocked off from the main feature of Splatoon2.
Anyone who has bothered to read posts from the people explaining why the paid online is a scam, knows it's a scam.
Where we differ seems to be whether to tolerate Nintendo pulling an underhanded price hike, or not.
I'm not going to try and fool myself,
90% or more of my switch online playtime is splatoon2.
Would I have really paid $80-$120 dollars
(that's $60 + 1 to 3 years of subscription fees)just for the base game of splatoon2?
No.
Miss me with the sunk cost fallacy BS.
PS:
@Spaceswitchmars agreed,
we don't know everything yet.
But the facts we have thus far, and the facts nintendo is intentionally withholding is very suspiscious and nearly damning on its own. My hopes are extremely low at this point.
