Ok. So off the hooks lyrics definately sound like they are far more heavily influenced by english than callie and maries were.

That being said if you have downloaded the splatfest digital content go into inkopolis square and look at the section where they have a couple of arcade games. One of the clearly says "ika radio 2"

Yeeeep, the language definitely seems more understandable this time. Some of the writing is readable as well. Maybe they figured characterization would be easier if it wasn't 100% gibberish.

Interestingly enough the Inkling language is composed of several dialects such as the Cyrillic aand Latin alphabets, and many of its letters resemble Japanese characters. I personally find that really cool.

I always felt that the Inkling Language was heavily based around Japanese. And Japanese does occasionally use English words/writing in their things. So, makes sense when you notice both Japanese and English bits in both Inkling text and vocal words.
