For best results. A team of 4 and 3 subs. if it's 8 it becomes two teams. It's kinda technical. If @Flying_Tortoise comes by he can explain it to the best possible.
ah. So two teams under the name The Squidicide Squad (as an example) , correct? Would that mean it would then be recommended to have like 10 players? Last question: Would they rank separately or would they combine?

Hey Captain Norris, it's been awhile since i've seen yah.
So squads can be any size, but teams will be a minimum of 4 players and max of 8 (we will make it official in our next update), this is to allow sparring practice as many have asked. A squad can have any number of teams, we would like the names to be named different example Squidicide A and Squidicide B and even better if you could come up with more unique names for both x). And yes each team will be ranked differently. If you are planning on having 2 teams then although up to you, imo I'd say 10 players might sound nice. Additional info, atm with the system, teams will be able to swap new players every 2 weeks in one move so that it would be easier to keep track of all the teams.

So I was right and all the other people in the thread who were naysaying me were wrong? I thought you didn't like the idea of sparring practices!

Oh wow this is absolutely perfect. So let me get this straight: We could have all 8 players on a single team, but we could also split them into two (So Alpha Squad and Omega Squad).

Either way you slice it and dice it this is exactly what our squad is needing. Thanks much for the detailed information. And yeah it is great to see you as well. We should play some Splatoon sometime :)

lol sorry about people doing that. We merely stated our reasoning on the initial reasoning of 7 players per team and wanted people to sit on our reasonings, but yah we still can't ignore that people will like 8 players per team if they really want it. We plan on having on update on the thread after we get the system automated which should be done hopefully in 2 weeks.

idk lol. that's pretty specific, hope you find that squad if you really aren't a TS fan

The system itself is going to be up and running in a week or two? That is great! Good luck to you!

Sorry, just it feels unfair that we can communicate and they can't. Unless we're up against another squad. Also, how exactly do you get paired up with just your squad? Sorry for the overflow of questions, just seems like you know a lot.

Well the ranking system will be for those who have registered with us on Squidboards, as atm that is what we feel we can handle, by the squads being registered most likely they will have a form of communication whether it is TS, Skype, etc. We actually have a TeamSpeak server where all registered squads have their own rooms (not that many people are there atm mainly because everyone is waiting until August). You will be able to pair up with only your squad by the custom lobbies Nintendo will enable in August. Basically, when custom lobbies are available this means teams can face against teams, tournaments can happen, it's basically the official release of Splatoon for competitive play x)
and no problem with the questions, already on so it's all good.

Okay, that makes sense. I was a little confused on what the difference between teams and squads was. Thanks!

Oh, one thing that I thought of just after this, in theory you could be registered under two separate squads, as long as you're on one team at once, right? Or no. I don't know. I think a nice post summarizing everything would be nice. Make sure everyone's on the same page.

Thank you guys for your work so far on this. Really looking forward to how all this evolves!

Here you go x) http://squidboards.com/threads/squidboards-ranking-system-proposal.2633/
As I did say before it needs to be slightly updated, but we are holding off on it until we are ready.
Hmmm possibly, I actually haven't thought about this. I'd have to talk to the group about it. I think it depends on if we are linking the teams to their squads to give them more exposure (perhaps we could link em to multiple squads but I am not sure if we want that). Thanks man, appreciate it.

I knew summoning Tortoise would clear most Questions. I'm not literate on certain things so i wanted someone with knowledge to come. @Aweshucks can also answer questions. Also I didn't receive notifications for anyone posting here. I hate that. I though no one came so I came to check.

Hello everyone! Former Squad Captain @[EJ]_Locke has joined The Squidicde Squad! Get Hyped.

Also, in the groups, is there a way to sticky threads, and is there a way to make threads only viewable by members the group and no one else? We have some private stuff that we wouldn't like other groups to see.
EDIT: this is the guy: http://squidboards.com/members/ej-_locke.5070/

I think there are no stickies I may be wrong but you can pin posts. I think there may be threads to make private again not sure. Try to check and I'll add locke to your team too.
Ok thanks.

And yeah from what I can see out of the options, you cannot make threads private, you can only allow members to post. What a shame, as there would be many uses for that.

I will contact a moderator though. Maybe I am just not looking right or something.

Alright go ask one of the biggies about it. Is your Squad full with Locke now?
