Who are the Squid Squad?
--------------------------------​

The Squid Squad is a group of competitive Splatoon players who get together to play Splatoon. We take on other squads in online crew battles and enter Splatoon tournements. I want to address one thing however; an important fact about squad that will never change...

"We are not soldiers. We are gamers. We play Splatoon because we think it's fun. Our goal is not to become the best squad in the universe or to defeat all opposing squads. Our goal is to have fun while doing it."

How do I join?

That's easy- just create a post here stating you'd wish to join. I should mention a few things, however. Firstly; both Skype and Raidcall are required. So make sure you have both, and post them. You'll also need to state if you're NA or EU so we can know which region section to place you in. When hiring new members, we may be seeking members specifically from that region.

Rules and Expectations
--------------------------------​

There are some rules and expectations to note while being a part of The Squid Squad.

- If you are inactive for more than 30 days, you will be kicked from the squad. If you know you're going to be gone for more than 30 days, please notify the Captain or Co-Captain as soon as possible.

- You are expected to participate in Squid Squad events. If you miss multiple events, you will receive a warning. Keep missing events and you will be kicked. Loitering will not be tolerated unless backed by a notification regarding your absence.

- Do not bully, harass, insult or threaten your fellow members or other members of other squads. We will find out and there will be consequences.

- If you are discovered to be working in a different squad or are caught applying for another squad, I can almost guarantee you a kick. Loyalty is what keeps a squad strong, and I intend to keep our squad as strong as possible.

- Skype/Raidcall has its own rules as well! I don't honestly care if you swear, but please keep it to a minimum. Posting unessasary images- specifically pornography- is also unacceptable. Please also keep the silliness there, and not here. I shouldn't enforce this because I know we're all here to have a good time, but the silliness doesn't need to poison our Squid Squad General Thread.

All actions involving boots or sit-outs can be approved by the Captain and Co-Captain. If there is any arguments involving squad punishments, do not bring it here. PM either the Captain or Co-Captain about your complaints- preferably the one who gave you the punishment. All punishments start with a warning unless stated otherwise.

No. I don't think it would be fair to region lock a guild of a game that can go online. Of course... There are tourney gatherings, but we'll discuss that in the future.

But I digress. We are not a region locked guild.

To its credit, Smash 4 has much better netcode than Brawl. It's not perfect, but I have actually been able to have some matches with minimal lag. It has ruined the real possibility of any kind of competitive play in Sm4sh, but I still manage to have fun sometimes. I would like to get into competitive Splatoon though. I'll still play it even if it lags but that'll be very disappointing if so.

I actually think online play will help competitive Sm4sh, if only because it'll make people interested in competing. It's completely ruining the competitiveness of some characters as Sakurai nerfs the ones who do "well" in FG without paying attention to how they actually play in actual competitive play.

Not that I'm bitter or anything.

But yeah, I just hope Splatoon sorts some of that out. I mean, ME3 had some brilliant online play.

This is definitely a good point. There's no better place to start your Splatoon experience than Squidboards. And with an alliance, it makes said experience even better. Welcome to the Squid Squad.

A Squad Captain must be a willing and mature user who can make sure the guild is running smoothly. Because we're so small, Squad Captains aren't needed. But I'll be keeping an eye out to see who'll fit the job when the time comes. Basically, be polite, be respectful and don't cause any unessasary ruckas, and you'll definitely be on your way. This includes the fourm as a whole. By right- if a moderator joins, they will be automatic choices because their title is proof of their hold of responsibility. @Warchomp7 for example. Course that doesn't mean they don't have a say about our guild even if they aren't a part of it. Remember folks- we're a guild in a city, not the city, if that makes sense.
