This place seems like it’s getting less and less popular. Is it just me on this?

eh, it’s been stagnant for a while now. occasionally we get bursts of new users, but the core set of users who spend a ton of time here tends to stay around the same size. you joined, i think, in the middle of a small burst of new users, so it probably seems like activity is dropping from your perspective

would it be cool if all, or at least most, of the new users we get stuck around? yeah, it would. but i don’t think we’re getting less active overall - this is kinda just the level of activity we fall back on a lot.

Ohhhhh. Make sense. I still come on here pretty regularly, but usually I don’t have any alerts. I wouldn’t say I’m being less active :)

I came back here because I missed posting on forums instead of consolidated platforms like Reddit/Discord/4chan. Used to be on forums back in the late 2000s into early 2010s, but unfortunately forums aren't as popular as they used to be. It's a shame really, forum culture was always so much better than consolidated platform culture.

I am going to respond by listing a few things that are good about SB and keep me coming back:

• cool people
• asynchronous discussion is sometimes the best discussion
• good vibes
• diverse perspectives on Splatoon
• overflowing enthusiasm for Splatoon
• abundant knowledge, freely and thoughtfully shared
• we all get to curate a searchable archive of the Splatoon experience that is publicly available

As for me, since I have been on vacation (a forced one at that), I will be on very inconsistently until I return home. Though, since I do have big plans to make some very needed progress on my IRL stuff after I return from my vacation, the inconsistency might still be there, but I will try to be on as much as I can regardless.

You only get notifications in threads you post in. I don't get a ton, but there's almost always something for me to read after a few hours.
