If I could there are some good hobbies that you can start getting into if you have a lot of free time on your hands Art is a pretty good hobby, there is also poety all you need is some place to write or type something down and a site that find rhymes and you are good to go,
if you have a more modern phone you can also get into photography and start snapping photos of sights you find beautiful around you. Have an itch for music than there you can start making music there's bandlab a site that is not only free, but I find to have a lot of tools to work with (I created an account only to create one dog water beat and proceed to not use it again).
me personally I'm into site building and have my own site on neocities, which is also something you can do.

Of course I'm not saying that you will instantly connect with these interest sometimes you just have no motivation to do that thing and that's fine. Again take me for example a couple of weeks ago I got interested in origami and wanted to learn it and then I proceeded to not do anything origami related and that's fine.

I guess where I am going with this ramble is to try and find an interest when you have a lot of free time it's not only good to learn something new. It's also good for meeting new people who are also interested in that.

Anyway might as well add something else here does anyone else have those times where you come across a problem with something you are creating and you spend hours figuring out what was wrong only to find out that the solution was so stupidly simple you can't help, but just be dumbfounded at high you even missed that.

Just happened with me I had an image on my site that was stuck in the bottom left and I tried to mess around with css to find out the problem. only to find out that all I needed to do was move <img> to the top of my html code and I just thought to myself "IT WAS THAT EASY!?!"

Very similar to what happened to me when I was creating the Halloween SFM, I looked every which way to fix the invisible model issue after going about the easy way for the model not to clip through the armor.

It turned out all I needed to do to fix the problem was to delete the model completely from the session and then import it again.

As someone in the Computer Science field lemme just tell you that a vast majority of programmers will deal with this feeling on a regular basis

I know how much that sucks, during my high school years, I didn't get to talk to people much because my parents kept phoning in the need for good grades.

High school's different for everyone. My high school experience was kind of the opposite, to be honest. I started out extremely antisocial but slowly but surely started to work my way out of it and had a blast at that point. Oddly enough after a lifetime of all of my peers hating on Nintendo there ended up being plenty of Nintendo kids there just like me and we still talk to this day.

Just go into it with no expectations and look to make the best of the opportunities you're given. Maybe it'll suck, maybe it'll be great, maybe it'll be whatever but you can make it great.

the other day I managed to repair a mangled cassette tape to the point I was then able to properly play & digitize it and I am so pleased with myself for successfully doing this that I half-want to start an entire hobby-business trying to repair/restore/digitally preserve old analog media (I absolutely will not actually do this because I do not have the time or money or skills (yet) but. it was just such a satisfying feeling and it made me want to pursue more of that).

Didn't want to create a new thread for this and the last person to comment thread is talking about balance and I didn't want to disturb it so I'm putting my question here.

Had anybody else ever listened to a remix that is way better than the original? This just happened to me I found this song that I thought was pretty good so I went to look for the original and found it on soundcloud. I listen to it for like 15 seconds then turned it off. I don't want to downplay her talents the fact that she created a song that went viral is a great feat and I love experimental out there stuff, but my earholes just couldn't stand the original.

Edit: Crap I didn't realize that it shows where a video is linked. If the person who created the video is reading this and gotten some sort of ping sorry about that.

Ough. yeah I agree with you there. I haven't found any examples myself but i think that's because I mostly just listen to the originals anyway.

I think a lot of it has to do with the style; I primarily enjoy orchestral music and video-game-style music (not necessary "8-bit" music) and the remix you linked is much, much more in that category than the original. I think people who enjoy the original's style might hear the remix and call it tame, boring, etc.

The music I listen to in the first place is mostly from video games I play and music that my orchestra plays. So I don't need to seek out a remix because it's already in the style I like, and when I do encounter remixes of those songs, I generally find them to be worse.

two songs spring to mind right away!
Metric - Blindness (Deep & Delicious Remix - HQ) vs unremixed. the latter just has me in stitches. it has build up but no proper release so it just ends up being tormenting to listen to for me

Death comes ripping by the Misfits. Sure, the live versions are generally good but the original versus the cover by Cradle of Filth I really like the latter and the og is just.. pretty drab.
also shout out to CoF for their cover of Hallowed be thy name. Iron maidens version isn't bad though.
