... ideally in some kind of graphic (if you want to do it in gsheets you can make a blank copy of mine if you want but do whatever format you're comfortable with. There's probably way nicer formats to do this in but spreadsheets were easiest for me.)

I think it would be very cool if this was a common thing for people to do, especially players heavily involved in comp-- I'd love to see how peoples' divs/teams changed over time and dates of notable tournament results. It would be neat to see the progression of people who grind X a lot too, or even sendouQ. But even if you don't do comp at all, its interesting to see what weapons you've played and how that has changed over time (maybe dates of when you 4/5-starred different weapons). It's just cool to have an at-a-glance way to show your history, I think.

As a side note/PSA, you can see how long I stagnated trying to improve in isolation trying to be "good enough" to get involved in comp, but it was only after I did that I started making real improvements. So don't be me. Just get involved if you want to be, you improve so much faster with support than alone.

I'm working on my own thread related to this at the moment, so i won't post it here, but I think I'll include a thing like this in mine, thanks. And yes, it would be very cool if more people did this sort of thing.

This is seriously the most important thing in this post and does not deserve to be small text. I did the same thing.

It's funny that it took until now for me to realize that I've now technically been a Decavitator main for longer than I've mained any other weapon. It felt like my time on Wiper Deco was longer than that but maybe some part of this stems from the vanilla Wiper being like a weird tertiary that I'd play when I wanted to goof off. It stayed like this from launch all the way until Wiper Deco's release, which would combine with my time maining Wiper Deco for around 15 months, which is much longer than Decav's been out.

I guess I can use the rest of this post to talk about the ranking stuff. This kind of makes it clear exactly how little time I've spent playing X Rank, with me choosing to completely ignore it for almost a whole year and then having two points of activity. I've been playing it more as of this month specifically but my tilting has gotten much worse and my mechanics haven't been great lately either. I'm getting close, 2300 in a few modes, but haven't gotten there despite putting in more effort. It felt very easy to get to 2400 and I could've probably gone at least a little higher had I continued playing since I won like a dozen games in a row to get there and never felt super challenged.

I've spoken to a good handful of people who took a while to reach S+ or in some cases hadn't reached S+ up until I had spoken to them, and to be honest it makes me feel a little bit weird about getting there so quickly. It was quite literally within the first week of the game launching despite me being A-Rank in Splatoon 1. I didn't even play Splatoon 2 and yet apparently I was able to skip the part of the learning process getting from C to S+.

What makes me any different? Was it because I've played so much competitive Smash or is it a matter of me picking up games quickly? Were people that much worse at the game on launch or something, and in that case are a bunch of these people I'm talking to buying the game after launch? I guess it's never taken me more than a few weeks to get back to S+ whenever the season's dropped me down to S even when I was a bit worse at the game than I am now so getting the game at launch probably isn't part of the issue for me.

It hasn't really been said on here, but if you can get past S+0 with any kind of consistency, then it really doesn't matter whether you're S+1 or S+50. All it boils down to is how much you're willing to grind Series out. One of the only times I played Series left me with a 7 streak crown and the only reason that streak stopped was because my end goal was to get back to S+10, which I subsequently won the rank-up battle for. It didn't even take me very long and the difficulty of the games after reaching S+10 didn't change at all.

i have an inkipedia just for this! its a little out of date, but it's still quite packed with content.
i should probably update it XD lots has happened since last update.

well, it's not quite the data driven graph this thread is made for, but i'd say it merits some mention.

I plan on detailing my full journey on my neocities at some point, but this is a pretty good idea! Looking at things, it definitely feels different being so new to the comp scene when so many people have been playing since the beginning of the game, but I am pretty proud of how far I've come so far, and I'm excited to keep pushing myself further.

Realizing how my X power has been relatively low because I never wanted to play there much ouch...
I'm still holding hope I will actually try to gain X power when I get another controller but I doubt I will have the time to make much progress....

Also I generally end up on S+2 to S+5 at the end of any season, but I got to S+10 at least once and probably higher than S+5 in some others, I just don't know how to check that data since I didn't keep tabs on it hehheh.

On other notes, dualies seem to be the class I've played the most as of recent, but overall sloshers have them beat in terms of play time and wins, with both machines, slosher, and other miscellaneous buckets I've used.

Also despite being so close, I never got Inkbrush to 5 stars, forgive me my beloved....

This took hours of searching through images I uploaded in the several discords I've joined in the game's lifetime, though I feel like there could be a lot more to add here. I've mentioned it many times here before, but even though I played since Splatoon 1, ranked/anarchy always terrified me because I really didn't want to play bad and disappoint my teammates. However, when I finally gave it a try, I found that it was actually easier than turf war because there's a more defined objective for people to work towards, so I got to S+ in no time. While I stand by the fact that there's a large difficulty spike following S+, I feel like I could now definitely surpass S+3 if I tried, but that alone was a huge achievement for me so I just haven't bothered getting back into the grind for awhile.

So like I was going to fill the form and what not, be all systemic and all that jazz. But then I realised that I don't???? know????????

I don't keep track of things, I dont write down my accomplishments. They just happen and I go "cool :), anyway"

Apparently I never wrote down anywhere when I first got to X rank. All I remember is that my first time achieving S+, I never actually hopped onto X rank, so I never got my power until the second time around.
The only reason I can even give you a rough timeframe for when it might've happened is because I made getting to S+ my personal requirement before I'd even attempt to get myself into a competitive team. But maybe I achieved X rank before Sizzle season 2023! Who knows!!!
Either way I didn't put any of my later X rank accomplishments, simply because I don't really grind series or X that much. So there's nothing noteworthy. My X rank history is quite spotty just because I dont always even bother unlocking it each season.

I suppose another thing I could've put between the Disappearance of Vanilla Octobrush and the formation of WIPIP is that I did It's Dangerous to go Alone early in Drizzle 23 and that was my first competitive Splatoon experience.
Oh and WIPIP formed on October 21st :)

I'm kind of like QuagSass in that I really did not keep track of much initially. That is until last summer, where I really committed to Splatoon. I've always played Splatoon 3, but it started mattering more to me then, so I've got more accurate dates after that. The rest I had to dig for, and it was great to do that to get a bigger picture of my experience of the game. This was a great exercise, thanks for the thread!

The complete saga of my various main weapons across history, not counting the many others that I would pick up only to lose interest and drop them after one week. I decided I might as well add the DzNutsKups on the timeline, too, though I'm not really a tournament player as of now.

I'd like to think I'm ok at ranked but I've always slipped into debt or barely broken even in S+ every time 😅. I do well enough in S but S+ is a different beast in S3. And like I highlighted I spent very little time in X and just got pretty lucky with a few of my calculation battles. The heavy splatling is my favorite and the only weapon I have 5-starred. Hydra and order heavy aren't far behind.

Where I was faced with hardship in S+, I found solace in salmon run. Salmon run really had the biggest gameplay improvement between S2 and S3. The first big run I played for a long time and barely made 109 eggs and evp 70. My first hurdle was being able to consistently stay in evp, then being able to win consistently at around 200% hazard. Once I got a handle on 200% hazard, it was a breeze on up to hlm. I wish I had kept better track of my high scores on each map but that's ok.

Slosh until Chill 2023, then L-3 D and H-3 D. And now I’m here.
