When you're about to reach the rocket in Return of the Mammalians, Grizz starts doing his evil monologue thing:
"There are three components to my business plan..."
"The vessel. The spirit. And the wisdom of ages. Someone is taking notes, yes?"
"Your brain...ensconced though it may be in your hideous form... contains the beautiful essence I need!"
I mean, obviously by the "wisdom of ages" he's talking about whatever's inside Craig's brain, and it wouldn't be crazy to assume the "vessel" is the rocket. But what about the "spirit?" were more magical elements involved? the same weird stuff that turned Smallfry into Hugefry? It felt like they had a cool idea going but then the story kinda devolves into "shoot the bad guy, listen to Calimari Inkantation again."

I think what he means by "spirit" is some kind of magical energy that awakens something primal, basically, Hugefry might actually be what Salmonids used to look like before evolution. Many animals actually shrink down the more they evolve. The bit about what "consumes the disaster" is really a primal force that remained after the time of the humans, the lore pieces you can find are filled to the brim with references to the "ancient times" before Splatoon 3 took place, but that primal force has always stayed, and Mr. Grizz was probably planning to use that after fuzzyfying everyone in the world to bring back humans and other mammals.

This next bit is more into theory territory, but it wouldn't surprise me if Nintendo made it canon considering some of the crazier stuff:

It's possible that in the setting that Splatoon takes place in, things with the right DNA could be used to make them turn into whatever animal species that has that DNA, but never fully, and that's what Mr. Grizz could be after when he references "spirit", as the liquid crystal from the Alterna dome screen could contain human DNA, thus explaining Inklings and Octolings having their biology being similar (but not identical) to humans in a way, and may also be the reason that if done correctly, Inklings and Octarians could grow mammalian hair as seen when one touches the Fuzzy Ooze.

I really forgot about those lines of dialog, they're awfully strange. We know the key part of Grizz's plan involved gathering Golden Eggs. The final Alterna log indicates they were used in the creation of Fuzzy Ooze, but that the rest of the details were not stored in the memory banks. Suspicious. What if the "why" behind using Golden Eggs is because they have that spirit he is looking for? The eggs are living creatures, as we can see the small fish within it move. While Fuzzy Ooze isn't exactly mobile, it does react when Neo Agent 3 contacts it, as if it is alive. Perhaps the egg's spirit gives the Ooze this quality?
