Yes. Technically I can but I got to buy my own Wii U which will take years at best.

Because Squidboards runs on a more recent version of XenForo than SmashBoards. As in, at least a year more recent, if not more.

As for why SmashBoards is out of date, I assume it's to do with licencing. The initial licence costs $140, and lasts for a year. You get free access to all updates released within that year. Once the year is up, it costs $40 to renew the licence, and extend the privilege for another year. If you don't renew, you can keep the forum up, but you no longer receive any updates for it.

I have no clue why they don't take a bunch of the shiny things here and put them on SWF
although as someone who knows the mindset of someone who would have to do that
I'm going to guess laziness
