Quick question about echolocation - is there anyway to know when the opposition are using it on you?

I dropped back to B- last night. Does anyone know what the scoring system is in B-? It randomly ranged between losing or gaining 8, 10 or 12 points for a loss or win with no logic behind it. Is it random?

I swear I get double splats more often then not. Glad to hear it is lag related, which is what I assumed. I am getting new internet to shortly which will hopefully help dramatically. Exactly how would you suggest playing around the lag?
