Kinda sucks there’s no Octoling options, but I’ll make do. Really impressed with the range of gear.
Here’s my closest approximation of my in-game Octoling:
Edit: Makes a good avatar. Nice.
Inkbrush, especially on Tower Control. People seem to forget that Splashdown refills your ink tank, allowing you to escape from pretty much anything as long as your special is charged (which, being the Inkbrush, it usually is).
So many happy memories of using Splashdown on low ink, then rolling...
Reviving this thread because I killed with Dualie Squelchers in the Kids vs Grown-ups Splatfest.
My first time playing seriously with Dualie Squelchers, and I’m starting to love the kit. I felt like the centrepiece of every team, calling out enemy positions and saving teammates with a...
A lot of the Sheldon’s picks (but not all of them, I think) have slight model changes compared to the originals:
That vertical pole going through the Sploosh just behind the nozzle is slanted for the 7.
The hose is wrapped differently for the Cherry Nozzlenose.
The Soda Slosher is modelled...
I’m in a similar situation to you so I can’t really help, although I’ve heard Mini-ling is good. Mostly I just wanted to say you’d probably get more replies in the competitive section.
Love me some Inkbrush buffs. Feels nicer when aiming off ledges now. The MPU buff will be great for Rainmaker too, I’ve always thought the trail was a bit too thin to swim through properly.
I didn’t, actually. I hadn’t played in a while before I heard about Sheldon’s Picks.
I think if you’re careful though, the point still stands. It’s a great escape tool, can get picks fairly easily, and can break up enemy formations pretty easily, even if you can’t always get a lot of kills with it.
Splashdown is an odd one. It’s absolutely amazing on weapons that rely on burst damage and confusion-fu (usually the ones with bombs and high inking potential like Clapples and Inkbrush), but mediocre otherwise. If it didn’t refill the ink tank, it’d be far worse. (Yes, all specials refill the...
Permabrush seems pretty great. Inkbrush is one of my mains and I don’t use Ink Armor at all, but they definitely go together. Seems like it’ll make fighting Blasters and Dynamos much less scary.
Clapples are another one I love the look of. They remind me of the vanilla Inkbrush’s mixups and I...
Object Shredder is a huge increase in damage to objects, for only one main. Although granted it’s one foot-specific main, which might be an issue if you want Drop Roller or Stealth Jump. It also affects your non-main weapons, so it could be useful if you want to 2-shot Ballers with Splat Bombs...
Seems more useful in vertical maps, where the Sprinkler is harder to hit and you can drop on opponents’ heads with the Baller. I’ll have to try staying on the top of Shellendorf at some point.
QSJ is my favorite ability because it lets you play more conspicuous, waste enemies’ time trying to kill you and then deny them the kill anyway by superjumping. It can even waste some Specials like Baller and Stingray if you’re careful to stay away from the rest of the team and pull a wounded...

I’m picking Family since Christmas and summer are the only times I really get to see them, but it was a difficult choice.
Merry Cephalomas everyone!
I just recently beat Inner Agent 3, and when I sat down to do it, it only took a couple hours since I gave myself a bunch of rules for each phase of the fight. Here they are:
(3 is short for Inner Agent 3)
General:
1) Try to swim-strafe whenever 3 rolls to the side, or after getting a few...
