It's finally real!
In the field guide for Side Order's fishy enemies, it describes the basic enemy inking over your turf as "painting".
This term has never been used before in-game. I would know. I listen to every one of Sheldon's descriptions.
It's an incredibly minor detail, but it means, finally, that using the term "paint" to describe a weapon's turf coverage is officially legitimate.
It personally brings me great peace of mind knowing that describing ink as paint is not unheard of in the Splatoon universe, what with how often we do so as players.
No, I will not be checking the direct Japanese translation.
