Make a guess on how Inklings and Octolings are made without saying basic theories

You can't say giving live birth/eggs, or ink. use your imagination.
I'll start: They are created by injecting special ink into a sponge that acts like those chia pets. droplets of ink will incubate and become squid shaped inkblots that eventually develop their flesh and cartilage. You know the rest.

if you leave around 5 litres of ink of one color, eventually itll form an inkling inside, and itll all dry up.
if you attempt to remove the inkling before the ink dries up itll die immediately similar to how the embryo dies when you crack an egg before it hatches

this is the bizarrest choice of thread to revive. anyway, new theory, inkfish are made by pulling wild ocean squids and octopuses out of the water and imbibing them with sapience via methods like Spray-a-Brain. this is how other species are made too
