What improvements do you want to see from Splatoon 4 as far as graphics go?

I thought with Nintendo's new console all but confirmed at this point this would be a good time to ask this. Seeing as how it's obviously going to be a bit more powerful than the current Switch we have now, what do you want to see out of the next game as far as graphics go? I'll start with a couple easy ones. Right now I would just like to see better collision detection on the character models and weapons themselves. Sometimes their tentacles just clip right through whatever they're holding and that can be really distracting.

I kinda want the paint to be more brightly colored than in 3. I know team recognition is important for gameplay, but I think this still counts.

Honestly I just want things to stay the same. The screen isn't filled with particles and other clutter, maybe partly due to performance limitations, but it makes the screen a lot easier to read and I like that a lot. So if it stays mostly the same, I'll be happy.

The cursor for selecting things should depend on whether you play as an Inkling or Octoling.

In Splatoon 3, it doesn't matter whether you play as an Inkling or an Octoling, the cursor is still a squid regardless. In Side Order, however, the cursor is an octopus. So for Splatoon 4, the cursor should stay as a squid if you play as an Inkling or change into an octopus if you play as an Octoling.

I don't have anything specific in mind that I want to see in the next game in terms of visuals outside of maybe having more ink color combinations (which I wouldn't attribute to the power of the console itself anyway).

The game's graphics don't leave much to be desired. Nintendo already massively stepped up their game with weapon models in the jump between Splatoon 2 and Splatoon 3 (practically everything improved). I definitely think content is the area that needs focus at this point, graphics have been maxed out to the point where only the most minimal changes or add-ons could be considered.

Freckles and scars for player customization, though, that's something that needs to happen.

Reading all the responses, I can understand why everyone feels that way. I still think that with potentially double the current frame rate of S3 and possible 4k graphics, Nintendo can still do at least something. Even if it's just incremental like S2 and S3 there's always room for improvement. Whether it be a few more pixels on character or weapon models, they can still add a little more detail to the backgrounds on a more powerful next gen console.

Just focus on performance. Salmon Run sometimes has issues with too many bosses onscreen, I don't want that to continue being an issue if they try to make the next game more demanding.

144Hz support would be amazing, but I doubt Switch 2 will even have that to begin with.

What I want isn't a technical improvement so much as something I want to see more of going forward.

I love the Light Room before you enter the elevator in Side Order, I thought it acted as a visualizer/reactor to previous runs palette chips but I was wrong. But with that thought in mind, having a ingame visualizer for audio would be lovely. The GrandFest's festivities were a glorious feeling, never has a video game rave felt so real. So just having a ingame space, like an arcade or something that has a cool light wall / music room would be a blessing. In the lobby / queue room songs haveing a dedicated lightshow in association to them would be fun too. Maybe a lightscreen that you can shoot at and the screen ripples in reaction to ink projectiles !

This may be an unpopular opinion, but I hope the inkling/octolings dont get taller like they have every other game... I suppose its been realistic, considering we canonically do age up with each entry, but I really enjoyed the slightly more chibi-looking characters we had in the previous games (same can be said for Animal Crossing honestly.)

This is extremely personal, but I feel like every weapon class has cool looking shots flying through the air, they're easy to discern and look really nice, except for brellas? Brella shots just look very underwhelming from the side, it's just baby pellets flying through together, it looks so weak. At least the handle has a cool particle effect when you shoot it.

So give me some crunchy looking ink in s4... and literally any buffs nintendo I'm begging y-
