not OP, but i've 5-starred stringer and experimented a lot with gear! here are a few things i do:
- i like a bit of run speed on my stringer -- somewhere between 1 main + 1 sub or 2 subs -- the extra mobility can really help, especially for repositioning slightly while aiming.

i started playing tri-stringer basically as soon as i could get my hands on it just because i loved the concept and design, and it's still my favourite weapon now! really love the complexity of it and its niche for chip damage, especially with the inkline kit. definitely not the strongest weapon...

dualie squelchers were basically all i played in splat2 and they're still really fun to play. i feel like dualies often fall into a slayer/skirmisher role, so it's nice to play a type of dualies that are more supportive (as someone who loves playing support/anchor weapons)
i'm looking forward to how the gameplay will differ from previous story modes (the roguelike potential has me particularly excited), plus getting to see off the hook + agent 8 again will be really cool. also just. learning what's going on lore-wise is gonna be great
