Hey guys, Coral here!

So, you wonder what's all that noise you hear in Inkopolis Plaza when the sky turns red? Well, it's the tentacle Octarians from my neighborhood fighting off the Salmonids that are invading Inkopolis where Gizzco hasn't set up. Don't worry, the Octarians have effective weapons of their own to counter Boss Salmonids, and King Salmonids don't appear to them either.

Salmonids learned to launch two-pronged invasions, so thank the tentacle Octarians for their bravery in defending Inkopolis. As for Octolings, we are already helping out by working shifts at Grizzco and fighting the Salmonids at Undertow Spillway. Okay, I'm arriving at my next shift, so see you guys later!

Long time no see!

I have been swamped with responsibilities recently, and right now, I'm actually tired. I had to go with Clam on something very important, but now that it's taken care of, I can finally relax. Oh, and Splatoween is coming up! That's exciting for sure! I asked Kelp what she wanted to go as, but she's strangely keeping that as a secret.

And about something new? Well, it seems that the neighborhood where I live exceeded its donations, now it can finally start to focus on self-reliance. In fact , I already see farms start to crop up, the medical area is now a full-on hospital, with more Octarians working there to respond to attend the needs of Octarians and Octolings alike who need medical attention. A new restoration sector to the hospital has been fully built, currently focusing on de-Sanitization and de-fuzzing Octarians and Octolings. There will definitely be more exciting developments later, but now I'm going to sleep, see you next time!

So, another Splatfest is coming up, this time is about the go-to greetings.

Apparently, I have to choose between handshakes, fist bumps, or hugs. Now this one is hard for me to choose, as I do all three on separate occasions. When I meet up with my Octohurler commander General Anemone, I give him handshakes as he expects the members of his army to be formal, I give my Octotrooper brother Clam fist bumps because he's also my best friend, and finally, I give hugs to my Octoling girlfriend Kelp because she also gives me hugs.

Overall, I'm uncomfortable choosing between people I know, I don't want to make my commander angry, but I also don't want to disappoint my brother either, however, I don't want to hurt my girlfriend's feelings. So yeah, this one is a big dilemma for me. I need to think about this, I don't want to negatively affect any of the relationships I have with people who had a role in making my life better.

Ever wonder how Big Runs are very rare? I always wonder that myself.

Although I am glad that they are rare though, I'm a busy guy with things lately like spending time with my girlfriend, checking in with my brother and his girlfriend, and so many other things that I have to keep a secret for confidential reasons (yes it has to do with the many missions I'm sent to do). So it's nice that I can catch a break from time to time.

In speaking about Big Runs, they are actually a special mission that I'm sent to and really the only ones in which I have Inklings helping me out due to Grizzco. Now yes, there are Salmonid stragglers, but my brother and the rest of the tentacle Octarians are sent to fight those to drive them back into the sea.

Anyways, that's all the time I have for now, see you next blog!

Yes! I'm so excited! I will explain why very shortly, today is the day I was looking forward to in such a long time!

So, why am I using so many exclamation points? Well, it's because I'm really happy with the fact that the Octo Shot is legal to be used in Turf Wars again! I can finally use the exact same weapon that my dad used, the same exact one that's a family heirloom. I used it before during missions as well, but it's a dream come true that I can finally use it during Turf Wars.

I'm just too excited right now, I'm gonna go play lots of Turf Wars now. I'm hoping Kelp can join me, but I'll understand if she's busy. I will get 5 stars on my Octo Shot, that much is guaranteed! See you next blog!

Okay, I have to be serious about what is currently happening. Warning that this is the angriest I will have been, but it's something that needs to be said.

Whoever is trying to break into the Octarian neighborhood, quit it, because nobody likes a trespasser. And you will never break into the Octarian neighborhood because the security there is through the roof, figuratively off course. But regardless, there's a reason why only Octolings and Octarians live there and it's to keep it as a safe haven for the tentacle Octarians who want to live a life on the surface when there are no other places on the surface that would allow them to live without some nosy jerk coming in to bring forced change that the tentacle Octarian didn't ask for. So just accept that many of us don't want change and respect our decision to keep things the same.

Okay maybe I got too carried away, but I needed to vent out what needed to be said, I will try to stay positive in the coming blogs, but until the next blog, I gotta play Turf Wars to let it all out. See you next blog!

This is actually kind of funny to me, I will explain in detail why I think it's funny.

The previous Splatfest was a Splatfest about cute baby animals (and to celebrate, Kelp made me put on bunny ears because she wore one herself, well that and because we were on team bunnies, I will explain in another blog how it exactly went down), however, this Splatfest is about what we do at the end of the world. Like how have we gone from a Splatfest about cute animals to one about the end of the world so quickly? Anyway, this Splatfest was obvious on which one I chose: Save The Day, I told Kelp that lineages must continue for future generations and she wholeheartedly agreed.

And I know what you might say, so I will counter-argue with this: General Anemone plans ahead on just about anything for any possibility, heck, he has been doing it even before we escaped Octo Valley, otherwise, we wouldn't have an Octarian neighborhood set up so quickly after we escaped. So he most likely already has thought of an end-of-the-world scenario and is probably working to counter every possibility of what that entails, making sure future generations of Octarians have the knowledge and supplies to counter whatever mass extinction event happens.

All of this end-of-the-world talk is really bringing my mood down, so once the Splatfest is over, I would prefer not to talk about it again. See you next blog!

A lot of you really wanted to see how the whole bunny ears thing went down before the previous Splatfest. Well, here is how it happened:

I was doing my usual hangout with Clam, Kelp, and Ocean in Inkopolis Square. Kelp and I were coming up with possible battle strategies to combat Blobblobbers and Eliters when the screen above the Deca Tower showed Deep Cut announcing the Splatfest. Kelp held on to me from excitement when the theme (Baby Chicks vs Li'l Bunnies vs Bear Cubs). I could tell Kelp was so excited for this particular Splatfest.

So Clam and Ocean decided to joke that whichever team Kelp and I chose, we wear something related to that animal. So both Kelp and I chose Li'l Bunnies and I thought it would be the end of that. But Kelp actually took Clam and Ocean's joke seriously so during the time in which the Splatfest was happening when were weren't in battle, Kelp wore a pair of bunny ears and gave me another pair of bunny ears, I wore it just because this would be a one-time thing, at least that's how I thought. But when I did wear it, I octo you not, Kelp let out the loudest "aw" I have ever heard from her. She says that to me whenever I "look cute", very typical, but for her to say it this loud was very surprising. Oh, and she kept holding on to me the entire time I wore the bunny ears, so that's something.

That's how the whole thing went down, I think you had enough story for one blog. See you next blog!

Oh no, oh jeez. There's something really foreboding coming up, I should let you know in advance so you can be prepared for it.

So, you know how in Big Runs, the Salmonids invade Inkopolis and sometimes Splatsville? I thought one King Salmonid was already bad enough, but if General Anemone's info tells me anything, according to Salmonid army behavioral patterns, there will be yet another Big Run that's going to happen, which yes, it means that the Octarian army will need to be deployed to deal with any Salmonid stragglers that decided not to leave. So why am I worrying about this so much? Well, that's because according to General Anemone, the Salmonids apparently have decided to go all out in trying to take over, plans of sending all three types of King Salmonids have been uncovered thanks to our Octarian spies.

Now I know you might call me crazy when I typed all of that out, but trust me, this next Big Run, now that my commander has called a Big Big Run due to how bad it is, is going to be the worst one we ever faced. I really hope Grizzco uses all of the best weapons in their arsenal for this battle, we will all need every advantage we can get to fight off this attack. If there's anything I would truly think would be the end of cephalokind, it's losing this war against the Salmonids. If you see Salmonids with their weapons in places outside where Grizzco set up, I need you to notify the Octarians on patrol so that the possible destruction of the area in question can be prevented. I will, of course, do my part by taking up shifts at Grizzco, this is not about getting Scales anymore, it's about driving the attacking Salmonids back to the salt waters they emerged from.

Okay, that's enough warning for now, I really hope you'll take this one seriously because it's best to be overprepared rather than underprepared. See you next blog!

this is a word I don't think I've heard before. and it sounds kind of weird tbh. I'm curious what other words we might be able to use to describe the same thing, cause I can't think of any
((It's a word I made up to be the Splatoon equivalent of "mankind", and while I could have made it "cephalopodkind" to describe both Inklings and Octarians, it would've been too long, so I went with "cephalokind" for the same meaning with a shorter word.))

I have to be honest with you, I'm kind of tired of having to complete the catalogs handed out to me.

Now I know you may think I might be complaining about getting free stuff, but many times, I have other things to attend to, like important missions in which General Anemone hands out or when Clam needs help fighting off yet another group of Inklings who simply won't leave him alone just for disagreeing with them. And only having a limited amount of time, puts unnecessary stress on me. While it's too early for me to celebrate, there are talks saying that this upcoming catalog will be the last new one.

If this is the case, then heck yeah! Finally being able to go back to the days in which I wasn't saddled by the constant demand of playing just to fill every single catalog. Why did I take on such a challenge in the first place again? Because I thought it was good training for some of the upcoming missions that I had to go to. But then at some point, this has become really tiring. If this is truly the final catalog, then I won't mind sticking to this challenge until the end of said catalog.

Either way, being free of having to constantly complete catalogs would be a dream come true for me. So I really hope this next catalog is the final one. See you next blog!

There's a good reason to celebrate today, after two days of fighting the invading Salmonids and their three kings, we have sent them back to the sea!

It was a hard fight, even the tentacle Octarias had a much harder time. But we did it, preventing the Salmonids from taking over Inkopolis! I wonder how Clam has been doing, being an Octotrooper must not be easy for him. But regardless, as my brother, he already had the commitment to fight the Salmonids in the areas where Grizzco hadn't set up. I'm just glad he's okay. My friend Ocean is also okay, her Splat Bomb throws have been extremely accurate if I was told. Ocean is an Octobomber, so I was worried that the Salmonids would target her, but I'm glad that wasn't the case, she and the other Octobombers were crucial in dealing with those nasty Maws and Flyfish.

Kelp and I took shifts in Grizzco to also help fight back the Salmonids, she was scared at first but then realized that our future as parents was at stake, so she did her best to help too. By the way, she loved the Grizzco Roller, it seemed like she went from fearful to becoming many Salmonids' worst nightmare when she had that, she was zooming around the areas like the Grizzco Roller was always on turbo mode. Serves them right for hurting my cute girlfriend like that multiple times. When I was loaned the Grizzco Roller, it seemed like I couldn't stop. Oh, and the Triumvirate? They were defeated multiple times, not just by my co-workers and me, but by many others too.

But man am I tired from fighting Salmonids non-stop, but it was worth it to end the wrath of the Salmonids before they destroyed everything. See you next blog!

After a Salmonid attack that left Octarians shocked, I figured it was time for payback, to deal a fatal blow to the Salmonids' confidence and morale.

I already told General Anemone that I was committed to making sure the Salmonids have a taste of their own medicine. Other Octolings seemed to want to do the same as well. So the shifts with the Salmonid Smokeyard opened up and I immediately took them on. A few of them were failures, but most of them were successful. So I aimed for 999 Eggsecutive VP, the goal that absolutely involved dealing that necessary fatal blow. Needless to say, many Stingers, Flyfish, and Slammin' Lids were splatted, already causing some damage to the Salmonids' morale. But that's not even the best part.

The best part came when my coworkers and I faced a lot of Megalodontias, off course not at once, a few of them managed to escape us, but most of the Megalodontias were finished off. Not only did we get so many scales from that, but the Salmonids clearly learned that messing with the Octarians was a terrible idea. And I planned to make that mistake of theirs very, very costly, which involved splatting a lot of Megalodontias. When I came back to the Octarian neighborhood after achieving 999 Eggsecutive VP, General Anemone was impressed, and for those who know him, he is almost impossible to impress given he was part of more than one war. In conclusion, the Salmonids' casualties were heavily costly this time around.

Now the Octarian army can better prepare for another Salmonid invasion in Inkopolis, I will for sure fight the Salmonids when that time comes. See you next blog!

(Never went against Joe before, but it does sound fun! Also I hate fly fish so much I always try to take them out first, I also committed suicide during a rush rotation in S2)
