Infestation in Inkopolis! IC

Mac diverts his attention from the other Salmonids, tossing a Splat Bomb towards Kelp's ink tank. Wish manages to splat some more Salmonids, including a Scrapper. Wish takes a Golden Egg and swims back to the egg basket to deposit it.

With Kelp revived, she splats the Salmonids going after Coral.

Coral waits for the fishing bobber to come under him, then as soon as the circle around it becomes brighter, he leaves a Splat Bomb as he escapes the Maws. The Maws explode due to swallowing the Splat Bomb, dropping three more Golden Eggs.

"That's how you deal with the Maws." Coral says as he picks up a Golden Egg.

"Okay, that actually makes sense." Kelp responds as she picks up another Golden Egg.

Wish also picks up a Golden Egg, swimming to the egg basket and placing it in. "How many more do we need?" Mac asks in between bouts of him splatting some Salmonids. Wish comes over to help, and the two end up splatting a Stinger. They take two Golden Eggs to the egg basket and place them in.

Coral checks how many Golden Eggs are needed.

"Only 5 more left, we can do this!" Coral tells the group.

Meanwhile, back at the boat...

"Seems like Coral is a fast learner, too bad for Kelp to be swallowed though." Clam says to himself.

"Right!" Mac understands. He manages to splat some more Salmonids, and Wish manages to splat a Steelhead. He and Mac pick up two Golden Eggs, swim to the egg basket, and place them in. Wish soon notices a fishing bobber under Kelp. "ケルパ！マウズ!" [Kelpa! Maws!] he warns.

Kelp notices the warning from Wish and promptly leaves the circle around the fishing bobber.

"Not this time Ms. Maws!" Kelp says as she leaves a Splat Bomb for the Maws to swallow.

The Maws swallows the Splat Bomb, exploding and leaving behind another three Golden Eggs.

(Also yes, apparently Maws is female according to Mr. Grizz)

Wish and Mac take two more Golden Eggs, depositing them into the egg basket. "How much time until this wave is over?" Mac asks, though several Salmonids soon swarm them. "We're getting swarmed over here!" he warns.

Coral and Kelp finish depositing Golden Eggs as well.

"Use the Specials that Mr. Grizz gave us!" Coral says as he goes over to Mac and uses a Splashdown to splat many of the Salmonid swarm.

"We only need 1 more Golden Egg to finish this!" Kelp says as she uses an Inkjet to splat bothersome Stingers as well as lessening more of the Salmonid swarm, picking up a Golden Egg dropped by one of the Stingers and depositing it in the basket when she landed back to her spot.

"Got it! Time to use this special weapon, and it's..." Mac says, trailing off as he uses one of the bagged Specials. "a Sting Ray!" he exclaims, unleashing a Sting Ray towards the Salmonid swarm and splatting many of them. Wish uses a Splat-Bomb Launcher, sending Splat Bombs flying towards the Salmonid swarm. The Splat Bombs explode after a few seconds, splatting some of the swarm and lessening their numbers. The Octoling laughs after splatting the swarm. "願い強い!" [Wish strong!] he gloats.

 

[Cephalobro]

"Perfect, now all we need to do is survive, we can do this!" Coral encourages the group.

"We can still keep collecting Golden Eggs, right?" Kelp asks as she splats more of the Salmonid swarm.

"Of course, in fact, we earn more cash the more Golden Eggs we deposit." Coral explains.

Meanwhile, back at the boat again...

"Ah, so they are now using powerful weapons, why didn't they use them earlier?" Clam asks, not knowing what he's referring to are actually Special Weapons.

Wish throws one more Splat Bomb at the swarm, and it explodes, splatting more of the swarm. He and Mac go to splat a Stinger, soon splatting it after a bit. They get two Golden Eggs and deposit them into the egg basket.

After a bit more of depositing Golden Eggs, Coral and Kelp realize that the shift is almost over, so now they focus on surviving the last few seconds.

"We are almost done!" Coral says as he realizes that there are only 10 seconds left.

"These Salmonids are really trying to get us now!" Kelp warns as she notices new swarms coming out of the water.

Meanwhile...

"What the!? More Salmonids?!" Clam is surprised about multiple Salmonid swarms coming out of the water to attack the crew.

 

[Splatoonlover1]

"...oh, snap," Mac simply says. He throws a Splat Bomb towards the swarms to try and dwindle their numbers. Wish fires the Ballpoint Splatling at the swarms.

 

[Cephalobro]

"We can survive this, just a bit longer!" Coral gives encouragement right as the wave is 3 seconds away from being over.

Wish and Mac continue splatting Salmonids for as long as they can. Mac throws a Splat Bomb and Wish fires the Ballpoint Splatling, splatting a few more Salmonids.

Coral and Kelp keep splatting the Salmonids, until the timer hits 0. Once it does, all of the Salmonids give up and return to the water.

"That was intense!" Coral said, tired from the wave.

"Well, now I'm scared of Salmonids again." Kelp responds, also tired.

Coral and Kelp superjump back to the boat, where Clam is waiting for them.

Wish and Mac also Super Jump to the boat, where Hope takes control. "望み勝ってよかった," [Hope glad won,] she says.

 

[Cephalobro]

The group of four lands on the boat before its motors turn on.

"I was worried when I saw new swarms of Salmonids going after you." Clam says.

"It was intense, but we managed to survive." Coral responds.

"Yeah. What a rush!" Mac says. It seems that Hope is starting to get tired, as she yawns. "望み疲れた..." [Hope tired...] she says.
