Laura sat where she was… Shivering in fear. The nice lady said something about that rude, old, ‘mad scientist’ octarian leaving. She definitely seemed to know what was going on, and that was a little comforting. Laura whispered to herself, “He'll be gone soon. Soon.
Soon…”
The robots attempts to calm Laura down didn't help much at first; it was kind of weird for Laura. But, then, she started to find it a little funny; all these robots were here, caring for her. This cheered up Laura a bit. She did her best to clean off her face.
Laura remembered what her grandma would tell her. “
Always be strong, my dear. The
worst of times are when you have to put on
your biggest smile.”
Doing her best to follow her grandmother's words, Laura attempted to stand up. It took a few a tries, but once she did, she looked around at everyone there. She finally realized that the ‘mad scientist’ left.
Relieved, she turned to the inkling she had bumped into. After a moment, she apologizes. “H-Hi.” She lets out a short sigh. “I-I'm sorry.” She extends her hand in invitation for a handshake. “I'm Laura… It's nice to meet you.”
