So I saw a video on youtube by keemsaysgm
where basically they spent the entire video complimenting every weapon in the game. Its nice and fits the theme of the holidays. So I wanted to spread that cheer here with a twist of course. I want you to take your least favorite weapon. To play with, against, or both and I want you to say something nice about that weapon.

It could be anything from design, to gameplay, to even how funny the name sound say something nice.Or else you get coal in your stocking

I go first with squeezer. Even though the weapon is rough to play against and I don't like fighting the kit. The main weapon does prioritize fighting with your main. It encourages good aim and the weaknesses makes this weapon a pure midline fighter and fight heavy midlines are pretty interesting to watch and down right hype if the person playing it can pull it off.

(there's gonna be a lot of .52 and .96 here lol) My least favorite weapon to play against, and possibly with, is splatana stamper. Playing against it is really hard with it's damage numbers. You get hit with a 70 slash, one typically runs away, but then you get jump scared by a 30 damage outside hitbox bomb (ingnoring SRU). It feels like it has so many ways to kill you from so far away, especialy with zip. Playing it though is a little different. I played it a small bit yesterday and went 11-6 (keep in mind though, i'm currently in A+, haven't gotten back to S). That's not horrible, but it felt quite slow and I think I panic zipped a few times and instantly died. I thought after maining wiper for 4 months (wow its only been 4 months), i'd be at least kinda good with stamper, but I've just never really liked it. Wait. I forgot I was supposed to say something nice. While I was picking on them earlier, I do really like the damage combos. Stamper is one of the few weapons that can combo with basically any weapon, the only other I can think of being dread.
70 hit into burst
70 hit into uncharged slash
70 hit into almost any hitbox of zip
70 hit with 30 damage bomb (SRU isn't here rn)
70 hit with any weapon that can do minimum 30 easily. I.E. RB, dread, wiper uncharged, I think squeezer, decav.
Like, stamper has great combos with so many things wow

Cool thread idea. I guess mine would be E-Liter? I could go into detail about the reasons I don't like it but don't think it's worth it for the sake of this thread, especially since I don't despise E-Liter to the degree that I'm sure some people posting here would with their weapons.

For what it's worth, I think the weapon has a pretty good presence at specifically lower levels of play. The laser is such a cool idea to actively teach players that it's a bad idea to stand out in the open for too long. For as abstract or inconsistent as some weapons in this game make their counterplay, I don't think any other class in this game has something to actively nudge its opponents in the right direction. E-Liter is arguably the most forgiving for that because of how long this laser needs to be active before it can kill you.

This laser also plays directly into the theme of hiding that Splatoon loves so much. As a backline weapon, a weapon like the E-Liter does keep itself to somewhat open spots because of the sightlines it needs, but otherwise doesn't do much to make itself apparent. If anything the fact that it needs to stay so far from everyone would make it harder for people to see at lower levels. The process of hiding the laser itself isn't particularly difficult, but it does force you to play the game differently and does make it just that much harder to hit your shot.

Which, speaking of, in order to be a good E-Liter, you truly need to have good aiming. Hitting shots with this weapon isn't difficult but being consistent enough with it to be a good E-Liter player is. This in turn plays back into how it works at a lower level - if an E-Liter player isn't as good at hitting their shots, you can use things like tricky movement to harass them as well. This will work pretty consistently until you're up against particularly strong ones in which case it's not usually worth doing, but is worth keeping as an option in the back of your mind.

And hey, when you find yourself having flanked one that's some good "think fast" low-stakes target practice. More of that never hurts. There aren't (and really, shouldn't be) any other points where a weapon is more vulnerable than an E-Liter without charge that you've run up on. Giving even players with worse aiming something they can try to focus on during a match is great, that being to try and harass, get in on and take out the opposing E-Liter.

Does most of this apply to me now? Not really, but it's something.

There aren't really any weapons I have a particular vendetta against, but here's my picks.

In terms of playing a weapon, I don't like ink brush all that much... but it is practically the epitome of a skirmisher, able to run effortlessly through enemy turf and draw attention. It fulfills its role pretty nicely.

In terms of playing against, splatana stamper is usually pretty troublesome for me. However, it is quite possibly one of the coolest weapons in the series. I mean, it's a literal sword with sword beams and crazy combos! How much cooler can you get? (I'll also admit it's kind of fun to use too...)

I have hated the Custom splattershot Jr ever since it was released

My compliment is Torpedo combing with Jr is actually really cool for letting Jr fight a bit more consistantly and I find that fun
also wave breaker + torpedo is actually really fun to time to make your enemy suffer as much as possible

Oh God I forgot about Jr. I'm gonna add a second one if you don't mind @Vidknight . The only thing I like about BOTH Jrs, is that they work really well for beginners. That's it. Outside of turf war beginners I HATE this weapon

I hate Gloogas to bits, they're easily the least fun weapon in the game for me. However, I can not truly stay mad at them, because at least in my opinion, Gloogas are the best example of how fun Splatoons sound design is. They're hot glue guns and straight up if you asked me to tell you what it would sound like if you rigged a hot glue gun to shoot glue sticks, I'd say Gloogas hit the nail on the head. The like, weightiness of the individual thonk-thonk-thonk of each shot sell absolutely everything about the design, and even my distaste of Gloogas to play, I simply can not give the weapon credit enough for just how much the sound design endears itself to me. Also yes it does get points for the funny name, Gloogas are easily one of the best weapons to point to if someone who doesn't play Splatoon is making fun of the weapon names

I don't have a weapon I hate I think, even weapons I don't find fun to play against, it's just situational, if I had to say it would be a charger like e-liter or Z&F Charger.
And a nice thing? I really like both weapons! I have 4 stars on both Z&F Scoped and unscoped, and e-liter, well, I don't play it as much, but I still think it's fun to be the longest range weapon in any given game.

Also, for the e-liter more specifically, I really like the looks of it, very cool looking weapon, and I really do think it would be fun to give e-liter burst bombs lol.

Dynamo feels powerful and is well balanced. Doesn’t change that I hate facing it with certain weapons…

H-3 paints safely, and very well. 9/10 times I really wouldn’t want one on my team.

funny thing is, for both the weapon(s) i hate fighting the most and the weapon i have playing the most, my Good Thing About Them is... exactly why i don't like it. lol

my least favorite class to fight is brushes, and there are a total of three main weapons there and idk which one i hate the most so... yeah, just brushes in general. i already have poor reaction time but when a brush is suddenly in my space and swinging at me i more often than not cannot react fast enough to splat them before they splat me. which is annoying but as a dualie player i admire annoying! like, if my wrists weren't already probably damaged from years of bad drawing habits i would want to play brushes myself for the same reason i hate fighting them.

meanwhile, my least favorite weapon to play is aerospray. i tried the golden aero booyah spam playstyle once and it was just... so mind-numbingly boring to me. but i'm a dualie player. i crave close-quarters combat. not everyone likes to play that way! and on a casual level at least, a weapon like aerospray gives players a way to affect the game (especially in turf) even if they're not interested in fighting or confident in their fighting skills.

Inkbrush... it's strong, but otherwise iffy when compared to my ol' Octobrush. If Inkbrush has a better effective range with falloff in mind... it has surprisingly good paint, it plays well with Ink Mine, it lets you use Hammer like a smoother Zooka then get right back to business, it rushes fast and grants immunity to enemy paint, it has a fire rate of 6 frames... Not 8 frames. SIX. I'm not fond of weapons rewarding mechanical "strength" with nigh-directly outclassing similar ones.

I'm not willing to risk injuring my hand with Inkbrush, but it's set apart with the sound feedback, which makes it feel like you're beating the hell out of someone. 3's Nouveau kit is badass as well. I'd tweak Zooka so it works like Hammer (use the speed or stealth of swimming to your advantage), and give it to this weapon in a new game.

Alright guess I can add something else this time for something I don't like playing. Splattershot nova this weapon is so weak in every aspect its sad. But I have to be nice so lets talk about the weapon design I know there is other water gun looking weapons in splatoon. But Nova does it best in my opinion and the annaki nova also looks great with the annaki logo on the side of the weapon. Truth be told I was planning on maining this weapon just for the design when it was first revealed. You can see how well that went.

Aerospray RG is at least able to sufficiently provide paint support for our team which is important for the midline weapons that I play.
It also gets a lot of Booyah Bombs so as long as we're able to get lead in TC, we should be able to stop the enemy team from pushing in overtime.

That's all I have.

I usually hate fighting against the E-Liter, especially the scoped kind, but if there is one thing I will absolutely give it credit for is that it's so satisfying to splat Cohocks with it as a full charge from it splats them in one hit, not only that but they make it so easy to get rid of Big Shots as well, fire two full charges and the Big Shot is done for.

exploshers are a very unique and interesting weapon, esp design wise. i like the extra heat effects! and splashdown on the custom explosher at least gives them more to do instead of sitting down and hitting ZR sometimes. they're also amazing in salmon run!

glooga dualies. i love how accurately glue-like they feel, that's not even a diss i'm gen impressed by it. i'm also not terrible w these and maybe i should play them more? not sure if i hate these actually

the wellstring is fun in salmon run and looks rlly cool, i think they're the most interesting (intere-string?) stringer in the game.

it's honestly cute seeing ppl run around with a clash blaster, it's like seeing a kid with a propeller hat and a large lollipop frolick in a flower field. can't even be mad at them! also fun in salmon run

As much as I hate short-range shooters in multiplayer, both to play and to fight against, the weapons are actually a lot of fun to use in Salmon Run. Their insane ink efficiency makes them perfect Flyfish counters (disregarding the existence of Explosher). Splash-o-matic remains the best, though.
