I'm really hype for this game!!! Love Tekken, Love Pokémon, What more could you ask for? the graphics look amazing! Best looking pokemon game to date! Gameplay seems great but I will have to test it out myself once the game is release but I don't think it will be bad! To be honest the gameplay reminds me of Naruto Ninja Storm mix with 2D fighting, really interesting how the Phases work. Character roster has a decent amount. I think the game some potential on the competitive scene, Its going to be on Evo! What are your thoughts about the game? And who are you going to main from speculation? I'm personally going to try Braixen, Weavile, Sceptile, and Gardevoir

After being bored of the main games, this is the Pokemon game that I've dreamed of and now I'm happy a fighting game with them is actually happening.

I'm probably gonna try out Blaziken first. He looks like the Ken Masters of this game.

Heh. BlaziKEN.

Don't know a blasted thing about Pokémon BUT I do want to play this game. Sadly redbox only carries PS4 & XBone games so I'm having a tough time deciding if I want to bite the bullet on this. Especially if movement is restricted to only the d-pad.

This game does look promising and it does break the turn style formula everyone new and old has been acquainted with. I think this could be ground breaking, and with enough popularity, give or take, this should hold a sequal or two. This is something that one of my friends wants to get rather badly. I can see why too. Hopefully, this game will hold my interest where some fighting games have failed, meh.

Wait did they confirmed you'll only be able to use the D-Pad? I was doing some research on what controllers are compatible and I've seen in the eshop that the Wii U Pro controller, Classic controller pro, Wii remote and with a nunchuk, and of of course the Pokken controller are all compatible.

I'm merely building my assumption on the Pokken control they're selling, which is also the controller they use for the arcade cabinets. It's a d-pad with no sticks.

But since you've pointed out the number of compatible controllers, I shall lean on the assumption that the console version will allow usage of the analog stick(s).

Almost time. This Friday. But I'm still in away mode so I'll be relying on others to get my fix.

While looking for recent videos of the game I came across the playlist of a streamer who's a Chandelure player.

Yeah pksparks is a good chandelure, his zoning is great and the power. I would follow him on twitch for future content.

Looks like it's gameday!

So who's started playing? Can we indeed play with analog controls? Can we switch our trainer's gender back-and-forth or would we have to make a new character?

Yes, you can play with analog controls, but the game is more designed to use the D-Pad.
And yes you can switch your gender anytime.

So far the game feels pretty weird to play. I even switched my controls to match Smash Bros. a bit, but I think I'm getting the hang of it. I really recommend going over the tutorials first.

Yeah, I seen some vids and the tutorial looks pretty comprehensive. I don't believe a lot of fighting games have anything that in-depth. Or really much of an actual tutorial to begin with.

That or I'm just gettin ol~d. *sits in rocker* Back in my day, tutorials in fighting games were a dream! Best you had, if the fighting game gods blessed you, was a practice mode and move list.

I can totally see this becoming the Mario Kart of Pokemon though, if handled correctly.
That a good thing or a bad thing?

Other than 3DS, the WiiU is the only other Nintendo console I've had since the SNES.
