it as come to my attention that the second color of the game's main ink colors might be up for debate. some people (like me) see it as blue while others see it as purple. here is the box art for reference:

i have tried color picking the blue/purple ink and putting it into a website that names colors but the result is inconclusive...

it depends on the lighting i think, during splatfests if you get the colors in mirror battle then they look VIVID dark blue, but on a map like brinewater with its softer worse lighting it can look purple. but most of the time i'd say it looks blue

on an RGB color wheel, yellow and blue are actually pure opposites. splatoon 1 kinda stretched it a bit in that regard (though they're obviously functionally opposites anyway)

Every time i've seen the color it's either very clearly, obviously blue (like the deep cut tv, logos, etc) or the purplish blue (like the one used for the color naming website). I don't remember seeing anything that is clearly purple in a similar way.

personally i see it as indigo, it can come lighter or darker shades, and in this case i think it's a brighter shade of indigo lol.
