i mostly play tri-stringer/explo actually (transferable skills ftw), i only play range when i'm tired or haven't played in a while bc keeping up with splatoon and calculating arc trajectories can be a bit much.
(signed, "active user" who hasnt played any splatoon since september and has just remembered big run is today)

literally why i won’t try and pick up inkbrush, the playstyle seems fun in theory to me and i’ve briefly considered picking it up before but it just doesn’t seem worth the strain on my hands and wrists!

…especially because, while i lack a diagnosis of any sort, after years and years of drawing without a good hand/wrist stretching routine i think there’s already something up with my wrists lol. ow owie ouch my bones

Now see, we probably would have a brush main here if Splatlings didn't exist. Specifically if Hydra and maybe also Heavy didn't exist.

Fortunately we do not live in the darkest timeline.

Nah Splash is still insanely good, its kit is way too valuable and the main weapon paints super well

Really you'd be surprised. There was a low-level team I've spoken to where they were recruiting and got like, 80% Brush players. They're out there, just....not here lmao

I actively use the Aerospray RG, Tentatek Splattershot, and Dapples Dualies myself. Everything else is secondary for me, though I was seeing some good results with the Tri-Slosher this morning.

I should probably add that inkbrush is my third most used weapon, and would feel comfortable using it as one of my better weapons since it was the first weapon I mained and almost the only weapon I used in 2.
I use a lot of classes of weapons and don't really have a main class but I do at least have splat dualies, machine and inkbrush as my most used weapons by a good margin.
Should've probably added that on my first response but I felt a bit embarrassed adding too many weapons despite actually using a lot of them heheh....

I kinda-sorta double main Tri-Slosher Nouveau and Dread Wringer. Their different strengths work better with different modes, so I swap to whatever I think makes more sense. You are absolutely correct in that nTri is my first and best, though!
The buckets aren't the only trick I have up my sleeve, either. In another timeline not far from this one, I would have been a Splat Dualies main. They were my #1 in Splatoon 2 and remain top 5 in Splatoon 3. They handle nicely, have two decent or better kits, and synergize well with my playstyle. (sigh) N-ZAP support accounts for a disappointingly large portion of my Turf Inked; both kits combined surpass all other weapons I've ever used except Tri-Slosher Nouveau. Custom Range Blaster, a weapon I don't really talk about playing, takes #5 in Turf Inked and win count.
I should write a bucket appreciation thread one of these days, in the same vein of Splatlings QuagSass. Also, thanks for reminding me to thank the player who showed me what nTri is capable of.
