Burton tripped on his shoelace with a yelp and braced himself to hit the ground. But he didnt. He kept falling. Soon he realized he was falling… out of the sky?
He lands roughly. “B-Berecca? Goro?” he asks nervously, but his friends are nowhere to be found. in fact, as he looked around, he realized he seemed to be in a whole new world…

Coral suddenly looks up at the sky and sees what looks like a human who just fell from the sky.

"I thought humans were extinct, unless that human is from another world." Coral says, a little confusingly.

"Humans are plentiful in my world. I only choose the most worthy human to follow." Kyurem explains.

"Regardless, we need to check if that human is okay, come on!" Coral gets the group to follow him.

"I hope this human won't be scared of me because of my appearance." Kyurem adds before following Coral.

Burton dusts himself off and stands up. “What in the name of ninjas….?” he mutters, pushing his glasses up on the bridge of his nose and readjusting his headphones.

 

[Cephalobro]

Coral sees the human standing up as he gets closer.

"Are you okay?" Coral asks.

(The human referred here is Burton.)

Burton gives a start and rubs the back of his neck nervously. “Wha- oh, yeah, s-sorry, just seem to be a little disoriented, no biggie-“ he starts, then gets a better glimpse of Coral and stops. “Ummmmm where exactly am I-?” he asks.

"You're in Inkopolis. Don't worry, you're not the only one who went through a portal. There are two others who also went through portals as well." Coral explains.

Kyurem catches up.

Burton thinks for a moment. “A portal, huh? Interesting…~” he trails off, then remembers where he is and blinks. ”Oh uh, sorry about that. Sometimes my brain gets a bit carried away,” he says with a chuckle. Then he sees Judd and his face lights up. “Goro?” he asks hopefully, bounding over in two leaps with his ninja…ness, mistaking Judd for his cat friend. “Oh…” he mumbles awkwardly. “You’re not Goro… sorry…~”
Judd gives him a weird look.
Burton sighs, but then brightens, remembering how Edison, his idol, felt about naysaying. “It’s fine.. we’ll find a way home! Somehow… I’m sure of it!” But deep down, he sounded more sure than he felt, and he wondered if the others could sense that too.

 

[Cephalobro]

"Either way, something weird is going on, because multiple portals opening up never happened here." Coral says.

"There could be something or someone using this world to imprison us from our own worlds." Kyurem brings up his suspicion.

Coral calls the Octo Lab again.

"Hey, it's me again, can you make that three portals? Uhuh, yeah now there is a third being from another world who just dropped here. Okay, I will call again if needed." Coral tells Octo Lab before hanging up.

Burton pops a piece of gum in his mouth and chews, thinking hard. “It can’t be that simple…”

 

[Cephalobro]

"They will try to open a portal to your world, but I don't know how long it's going to take." Coral replies.

"If new portals keep being opened, then perhaps we can look through them to take a glimpse of the world that connected to this." Kyurem suggests.

"That might not be such a bad idea." Coral replies. "Anyways, since we are going to need to work together, my name is Coral."

"Kyurem is the name you shall call me by." Kyurem introduces himself.

Burton blinks. “Oh, hi! Name’s Burton. Ninja descendant.“ he gives an adorable shy smirk.

Kirby runs up to the 'human', as they're called. "Gorō... Kōraru... Bāton..." [Goro... Coral... Burton...] Kirby says in thought, repeating the names he's heard.

Burton blinks. “Oh my gosh… it’s so cute!! What is it?” Without waiting for a response, he slowly bends down to get more level with the lil kirbo.
”Hey there, little guy… now where did you come from?”

"His name is Kirby, he is also from another world." Coral clarifies.

"We must begin our search for portals that will lead us back to our own worlds." Kyurem tries to get the group to investigate.
