I have fantasized about Ink Minefield before. Imagine Super Chump... but invisible. Also with proximity detonation and always centered on the user. The best defense.

Your one-shot is only an effective defense with extreme distance.
Not necessarily. S-blast has amazing defense against being rushed because, with good aim, you can one-shot the player before they have time to finish doing damage.

A small hitbox is an advantage against any attack, even AoE to a degree.
Even a hitbox of size zero can be hit, as long as the projectile isn't similarly small.
If you don't know where it is though? Now that's hard to hit.

I'd argue the best defensive weapon is probably Hydra Splatling, which doesn't have a one-shot. What it does have is a strong partial charge, long-lasting suppressive fire at a distance, and either an Ink Mine or Booyah Bomb.

Too risky. Bring something with Mines and Bubble in case things go awry.

(Why is that not a kit yet...? Give that to Wellstring or Dualie Squelchers.)
