To be fair, the map did get worse in Splatoon 3.
They took out a whole right side route which I'm sure would have helped deal with a lot of the issues the map currently has.
exactly. I just want piranha pit back, the flat map is so cool.

I'd want it to be almost entirely flat at mid, with lots of things to hide behind. it makes chargers have to be careful of their surroundings and whatnot. also no dumb slosher cheese. LIKE ON FLOUNDER ARGHHH

Snapper Canal should've came back, it was such a great stage:

Wide open space? Check!

Water hazard that's actually fair to the players? Check!

Alternate paths right at the beginning? Check!

It was literally a stage that would break up the monotony of corridors and tight spaces, which while Splatoon 3 finally got a few stages for that, a few more should've been added to balance it out.

Bad maps are not a new problem that is unique to Splatoon 3. We romanticize the greatest hits, I want The Reef and Snapper Canal back as much as anyone else, but the duds were always there too. The day Bluefin Depot dropped should've shut up anyone insisting S1 was perfect.

Snipewriter is the most fun (long range) charger to fight in the game
100 times out of 100 I would rather fight a snipewriter than a Splat charger or a E liter
It has a lot of fun things about it such as counting its shots, not getting ONE SHOT, and its also way more fun to play with aswell
Oh and just to get bias out of the way I play Brellas and splatlings which are some of snipewriters best matchups even so I love it

I do agree but I don't think the competition makes it very hard for it to earn that title.

custom kits would not be healthy for the game, actually
Fully custom kits, absolutely. Nintendo would have to perfect sub/special balance for it to work.
I feel like the best thing they could do is add an isolated mode for fully custom kits, then use the sub/special popularity data from the custom mode when crafting their mainline kits.

If you took Splatoon 3 as-is and allowed custom kits, it would likely be broken. Burst Bomb combos would be everywhere.

But I think if Splatoon 4 was designed from the ground up with custom kits in mind, it could be a lot better than what we have now. They'd have to make some changes to accomodate a new system, but it'd be worth it in the end.

Really, I think anything could be better than what we have now. S3 has done such a terrible job with kits that I do not want to see this same system return in S4. Replace it with something else, anything else.

I personally think Ink Vac is a horribly designed special and should not return to any future instalments in the series. A cone of not only invulnerability but shot nullification is ridiculously overpowered, and the way they balanced it was to make the special user extremely vulnerable. Weapon types with rush attacks can completely ignore the vacuum, and the shot it fires at the end is more of an area cheese than an actual threat.

In order to make Vac a good special, dozens of changes would be needed, and it’s just not worth it. It’d be easier to come up with a new transformation support special.
