"Oh, one more thing. General Anemone will give you a home to live in. That is if you want to live there." Coral offers Hope.

"In return, he wants you to fund the neighborhood. Don't worry, there is no set amount and no set time needed." Kelp adds.

"Plus, once it's done, it will be the safest place in Inkopolis, so no Sanitized Octarians will go in there." Coral finishes. "If they want to go in there, they will have to be desanitized first."

Hope lets out a sigh of relief. They still need money, but she's willing to save up her earnings and then give then all to General Anemone.

 

[Cephalobro]

"Speaking of which, I forgot to give some cash to General Anemone." Coral reminds.

"Yeah, I'm thinking of doing the same thing." Kelp adds.

Hoping to talk privately between themselves, Coral and Kelp decide to super-jump back to the neighborhood.

"We'll be back very soon." Coral says to Hope before turning into his octopus form.

"Most likely in just a few minutes." Kelp adds before also turning into her octopus form.

They super-jump back to the neighborhood, awaiting General Anemone to meet them at the entrance. Once they landed, the Octohurler general greeted them again.

"Welcome back!" General Anemone greets the couple.

"We just came here to use much of our earnings in the funding efforts." Coral says as he notices the outside construction finally being completed, with just painting left to do.

"Hey uncle." Kelp says to General Anemone "Is this what's like being a parent?"

"I take it you mean helping the new arrival? If you want to look at it that way." General Anemone responds.

"Well, we basically got her a Splattershot Jr. to help her get started on helping fund the neighborhood." Coral adds "But part of me felt like a parent too, like buying a toy for a child."

Coral and Kelp give much of their earnings to General Anemone as they wait for him to respond.

"Then you can think of this as the first taste of a mother and father experience." General Anemone says to the couple while accepting said amount of earnings.

"Well, we should return to Hope so she won't be left waiting for us a long time." Coral prepares to super-jump.

Kelp also prepares to super-jump.

"Coral and Kelp, you don't need to be embarrassed or scared of having those kinds of feelings. They are a sign of mental and behavioral maturity, which is a wonderful gift to have at younger ages as long as you are aware of those ages too." General Anemone explains to the couple. "Just stay out of trouble and all should be fine."

Coral and Kelp quickly give a thanks to the Octohurler general before super-jumping back to Hope.

Hope seems glad that the duo returned, though she's also a bit upset since they're able to Super Jump and she can't. She thinks it makes her different in a bad way, along with her eyes.

"Oh no, we didn't mean to upset you." Coral feels bad about super jumping.

"You don't need to feel bad about yourself." Kelp started saying to Hope in order to console her, "We are all different in some way, in fact, Coral can't toughen up emotionally regardless of how much he goes through."

"And Kelp is actually very motherly despite being 15 years old." Coral adds, "Plus Hope, your eyes actually look pretty cool."

"If it makes you feel any better, before we got to Inkopolis, we have known an Inkling who can't respawn." Kelp brings a memory up.

Hope is glad that there are people who will accept her for who she is. She's starting to feel a bit better about herself. She wants to ask about the Inkling that can't respawn, but it might be a sensitive topic, so she decides not to bring it up.

"So, how about we get you to your new home?" Coral suggests.

Hope nods. "はい," [Yes,] she says, ready to go. She seems excited. She does wonder if they got her broken voice box fixed, but it's probably going to take at least a few days.

Coral and Kelp once more lead Hope to the neighborhood, this time just walking.

Hope follows Coral and Kelp, wanting to see the progress. She kept the rings somewhere as safe as possible in the neighborhood, so as not to lose them. Hopefully, they'll still be there.

When they arrive at the neighborhood, they see that the walls are finished on both inside and outside. The Octarians moved their work inside to help finish the houses.

Judging by what Hope sees, it seems that there was a lot of work done when she participated in that Turf War earlier and won. She's glad that Octarians will have a home on the surface now where prejudice hopefully won't be allowed. All the Octarians back home teased her for her differences, both her inability to Super Jump and her eyes. Even when she eventually defected after hearing that heavenly melody, the Octarians still made fun of her, especially for leaving both them and DJ Octavio. She felt ashamed of her differences and still does to this very day, even if there are cephalopods out there that might accept her for who she is, like Coral and Kelp, for instance.

The doors to the neighborhood open, General Anemone steps outside.

"Welcome back." the Octohurler general greets them again.

"Hey General Anemone, so about getting a house for Hope." Coral brings up the topic.

"Ah yes, I know the perfect house, it was actually just finished building and cleaned up!" General Anemone tells the group.

"Any furniture inside?" Kelp asks.

"Well, we don't have those for sale yet because the stores here are not done being built yet, very close but not complete yet." General Anemone points out, "We are mostly focusing on finishing the houses so every Octarian here, including Octolings, have a place to live."

"That's fine, Inkopolis has their own furniture stores that we can buy from for the time being." Coral accepts. "So, will you show us the house you have set up for Hope?"

Hope is ready to see her new house. Back in Octo Canyon, Octarians have to share kettles since there aren't any separate kettles for each Octarian. There still aren't, making this 'separate houses' thing unheard of in the Canyon. Inkopolis is her home now, so the Octarians who made fun of her would have to have defected in order to come here... right?

 

[Cephalobro]

"Follow me." General Anemone starts leading all three to the house he talked about.

The house itself looks very pristine and clean, not a single weathered part in sight.

"Here it is, Hope. I apologize that it doesn't have any furniture, but a place to live for free is the next best thing we can offer you." General Anemone tells Hope.

"You heard that right." Coral says, "For the time being, living here is free as long as you don't use too much power or water."

"Even though we pay if above the threshold that we use, that threshold is so far above that you probably won't have to worry about it." Kelp adds.

Hope thanks the trio, still somewhat wondering about her voice box. It's not a deal breaker for her, though, so she decides to not bring it up. She is a bit confused about the talk about water, though. Doesn't water force cephalopods to respawn as if they've been splatted?

"We only use water to wash things, not everything can be washed with ink after all." Kelp clears up the confusion.

Oh, right. Hope sort of forgot about dishes. She apologizes for any confusion that might have been caused.

"Let's go check inside!" Coral excitedly says.

"Okay, get ready to be amazed, Hope!" General Anemone says before handing the key of the house to Hope.

Hope takes the key, walks over to her house, and unlocks the door. She holds it open for the others, allowing them to go in first.
