If they made playable male octolings, would they have some fresh hairstyles? I would hope so. We already have Marina as a sign that they can easily turn over by music, so why don't we have some already? (And going on about future DLCs, Emperor from Corocoro has a duffle coat, shoes, and a hairdo that is egging me if Nintendo ever decides to put more hairdos for males. It's KILLING me, it looks so awesome.)

Yes, I am posting because of already wanting new cosmetics. Feh.

I'm going to sound so stupid when I say that I don't particularly care about Zelda.

It's not just Breath of the Wild. I'm just not interested in the Zelda series much at all. It's a good franchise, I know, it's just not for me. (Nothing against any of you who enjoy it).

Eh, I'll just hide in my ink with Ninja Squid. Can't shoot what you don't see.

I hear you, that's totally understandable. Me, I'm a heretic that really only likes the old 2D ones, along with Majora's Mask and Link Between Worlds :P

That's my girlfriend to she bought Puyopuyo Tetris S with her Switch in April.
Now she has Splatoon2, Mario Kart 8, I think that One piece game...
So yes there are 100% switch owners that don't want to play Zelda.
With Monster Hunter XX (Japan) and games like Nights of Azure (October), Xenoblade, Mario Oddessy on the Switch we are going to see the Attach percentages for Breath of the wild, drop I feel like it will settle at about 70-80%
And we will see Splatoon2 about the same.

Dedicated servers... Please be real Nintendo...

I have seen delay not only in my charger shots but to the ink laying about half a second, It was not pretty....

I also haven't got on to play much this week with Monster Hunter and Packing... (I Hate Moving)

Just thought I would pop in here to show the world how tragic this mass murder of Salmonids was today:

Wave 1 was low tide and I had Heavy Splatling, normal tide on Wave 2 with the H3 Nozzlenose and Wave 3 was normal tide and Glowflies, where 2 of my teammates knew the perfect spot to stand and easily defend against them. This is definitely my best performance with regards to Golden Eggs, which is a pretty staggering 93. I bet there are far higher records with both Salmon Eggs and Golden Eggs collected (especially with Japan), but for a match with randoms this is probably as good as you're going to get, because too many times you have people ranked Profreshional that either do dumb things and screw the team, or on night waves have no clue on the correct strategy (especially the Mothership), and you either struggle to get the quota or (in the case of Mothership), lose 1 Golden Egg too many and miss the quota, which has happened too many times before.

Also yeah these pictures show my IGN doesn't match my username here, but that's mainly because I don't think you can change usernames here and I changed it on everything else about 8 months ago :P

Just a bittersweet headsup: Nintendo's Japan site says Miiverse is getting the axe this November 8th. I think it may still archive our posts and what-not for a while, but it'll no longer be functional.

Might make a thread about it in the Splatoon 1 section later if no one else does. Either way, you might want to start collecting whatever you want to save while you still can.

I'm going to say something crazy weird and unpopular here.

I Like Goo Tuber.

There, I said it. I've been playing with it since it's the least loved weapon in the game, and I'm a sucker for unloved weapons. But I actually like the thing! After the buffs, I think it's only real problem is range. It DOES need a little more reach to be good since it charges so much slower than a squiffer, has little more range than squiffer, and the (nerfed) eliters have very little more range than splat chargers now. I've missed a lot of shots I THOUGHT I should have been able to reach but it just fell short. But I'm playing kind of well with it. More like the way we used to play partial charge dmg+++ eliters. (seriously why does 4k even exist? it has almost no range extension over splat charger :( ) I still suck with it, I've only been using it a few days and have yet to take it to TC, just turf, but it inks well. I'm not exactly the kill leader, but I tend to not die very much at all unless I get stupid (or if the whole team is overrun and I have no ink to move in, it's curtains.)

But it kind of combines my old unscoped dmg++ partial charge aggressive-eliter style, with the way I play sploosh and brushes making a fun hybrid of all my playstyles. I admit it's fun to play a charger with the frantic/lurking mobility of a sploosh/brush.

It's possible bamboozler will obsolete it again ,but at least until bamboozler comes out, I might actually be a Goo Tuber Main!.

Of all the modes I actually find zones the easiest to climb but once you get to S+ it suddenly has a huge difficulty spike....probably cause if the person S+0 or S+99 they are still all considered S+.
I feel this will need to separated a little better (S++?) but we'll see
For me TC is awful may be because of maps but it feels like1 push then everyone pop special and hold the tower past the checkpoints, yet my team refuse to even get on the tower in spite of the wiping the team.
Though again it is during salmon run...

The big thing with salmon run is it is an easy way to farm abilities so people all jump into it leaving those who are either got all the prizes or those who could less left in the ranked game result in such polarized matches
I don't know, I've found zones to be amazingly awful. Though I'm with you on TC. However I blamed that on the fact that I main chargers in TC and frankly the maps are **BAD** for TC chargers. Especially the race track. With most positioning you have to look UP at the tower.....and that just doesn't work for chargers. Same can be said for most of the maps. Frankly Moray towers TC is almost the worst. Other than in the mid-way, you have ZERO charger access once they move it out of center. So I have to jump down and try to charger from below...which of course gets me killed. They added that stupid half wall right where I needed to be. Eliter can do it, but the other chargers can't. And Eliter can't do it in a way that says "this should be what I use." But zones, I find no matter what wep I use nobody inks anything. And it's a mode about inking. Or if I just go aerospray my whole team plays tw and paints the base leaving the zone to the enemy. I finally DID have a good run at at it the other day, and thankfully post-buff, sploosh is no longer dead! I have your TC problem with teams not riding....though I tend to fix that by riding it myself. With an eliter. :P RM I've had 50/50 teams that are great and I can escort the RM in (or carry myself) and teams that refused to pick it up and never escort. But TC, I've had the majority of teams simply not ink the zone. They play TW and go brawl in the enemy base, while the zone is still in enemy paint letting the clock tick down. (Meanwhile half the rest of the time the enemy spawncamps us half the match. They're in our base the whole time AND have the zone covered. My team goes into their base and does NOT cover the zone. :P )

Odd question about salmon run: What do you GET for playing Salmon? I see prizes...but I don't receive anything ever I don't think. How do you get them? And how do you get abilities from it? I just play it for fun....I didn't know you actually get anything from it :)

But yeah, I had a feeling SR was affecting ranked.

Wow~ if that happens... and it leads to a better "tickrate"... and we get some actual global matchmaking chances... what will players complain about when things don't go our way in a match? Beyond our teammates of course. :p
I doubt they'd change the tick rate. Bandwidth usage is bandwidth usage, and I suspect they reduced it to equalize the ping differences between clients more to "handicap" the good pings a bit since in S1 it was too fast with the pace of gameplay. But I'd still love dedicated servers!

Goo tuber is an amazing tactician weapon and are a blast to play, I mentioned this pre-patch (probably 3+ back I mentioned this) that the way they play is very unique and make them very enjoyable. I honestly don't know which abilities work on it so could you give some tips?

TC has always been a bit difficult, cause what usually happens is I go in to pressure the team (with duelies), while my allies are letting one person push tower, then I push tower and they all go in an died leaving me in a 1 v 4 or better yet they all get on the tower and then die...... TC was my favorite mode in splatoon 2 cause as long as you played smart you stood a chance, but checkpoints, tentas and bad teammates from time to time has made a very salty experience.

Of all the weapons duelies and nzaps in my personal expertice are great for turf, squiffers do a good job as long as you stay back and support, and on uneven stages like the race track and mussleforge buckets are a great option (except tri, cause then I judge)

Lastly Salmon run is great for spamming ability chunks, you can get gear, ability drinks small amounts of ability chunks, and tons of gold which is great for scrubbing....plus it is a blast to play

...I believe this can be called critically failing a spot check. See that little store window next to the salmon run entrance, to the left? That's where you claim your rewards. You've seriously never noticed that or picked up your loot? Really?

Speaking of odd or niche weapons we're growing to like: anyone able to point me in the direction of some splat brella knowledge?

Interesting that you'd speak highly of the tuber, I thought you and everyone else pretty much considered it a joke. Yeah, I'm personally loving it, I haven't touched squiffer since. I don't get as many kills as with squiffer, but the wep brings back the glory days of the best of 3k CEliter mixed with brushes. Tactician wep....that's a great way to describe it, and is really the way I've always played since I got into eliters.....but then had to learn aggro instead because of how solo tends to play. That's it, gonna' be a Tuber main! :p Or at least tuber/eliter (maybe scope) (And I think your vanilla blaster is sufficiently non-meta to replace octo that's gone meta for RM.) Sploosh is still non-meta so I'll stick with it in zones. But once hydra and bambi come out I'll be all over the place again. I think sloshing machine is one of the best killers in the game. I play well with it, get lots of splats....but it feels too meta-prone for my liking. I love playing the uncommon weps. Maybe it's a holdover from all the Japanese play styles in S1.

Gear for tuber...I'm still experimenting. I tried respawn punisher. I still feel that's next to useless on any wep. I don't die a lot, but if I don't notice any delay respawning, I doubt my enemies do either. Right now I'm going 2x main swim speed, 1x main 3x sub ink resist. (random other slots, snails are too precious to spend until I know what I want.) The way I happen to like playing it is brush/sploosh meets eliter, so I like to move fast, and move everywhere. I also like baiting people into my splashdown. They fall for it so easily. It's arguably the best splashdown wep because nobody can resist bum rushing a charger. :p Ink resist is important for that. I could see gearing up for using the suctions though. Or going for a haunt/thermal type setup. I personally never get much out of point sensors/echolocators etc, so I never focus on that. One thing that's NOT needed is anything stealth oriented :p Though the glowing blob lurking around is probably intimidating....moreso than a laser.

TC....I'm not against whole-teams riding the tower. It goes faster, and in both the first game and the second some of the fastest wins (or last ditch pushes) were from full teams riding. But too many times I see the whole team riding, so I follow to cover from the rear only for them to all leap off, go battle, and let the tower reset all the way back to center.....and they only needed a few more inches! I usually play charger in TC, and the sniper should not be riding the tower....yet I'm often the sole rider, making me mostly defenseles, and leaving the team without sniper cover. Though with these maps, that may not matter much :P The blasters and buckets though just do too much to control TC. Especially with checkpoints. It's a map problem where the meta buckets can decimate the tower, but chargers have very few vantages to do anyhing at all. Add in teams that won't push it or get splatted off it, and you find the charger having to rush the tower but being unable to battle at all.

...I believe this can be called critically failing a spot check. See that little store window next to the salmon run entrance, to the left? That's where you claim your rewards. You've seriously never noticed that or picked up your loot? Really?
Holy heck I missed that completely! The whole run up to Profreshunal, and I missed the redemption window entirely! I've earned that stupid hardhat like 15 times :p I never got gold or anything from salmon....I just kind of figured it was for fun except the gear of the month that I didn't know how to get :p Thanks!
