New Pokémon? Cool. As for each of 'em...

Wimpod: Will be annoying to catch, and I'll probably never use it unless it evolves into something awesome. Which it probably will. *sigh*
Hopefully it'll stay Bug/Water when it evolves, unlike f***ing Surskit-to-Masquerain.

Bounsweet: It's cute, and I'm a sucker for cute. Hopefully it'll get good evolutions (maybe a dragonfruit? Dunno if we have any Grass/Dragons outside of Mega Sceptile, and quad-weakness to Ice aside it'd be pretty cool to have one of those).

Comfey: It's a lei. That's it? Seriously? Come on now.
...Still, Triage (makes healing abilities go first) looks neat.

Mudsdale: I'm not sure why I don't like this one, but I don't like this one. Hopefully Stamina (Defense goes up when you get hit) makes the leap over to other pokémon tho, that looks like a neat ability.

Mimikyu: IT'S SO CUTE I WANNA HUG IT
I like this one. It's adorable. Also Ghost/Fairy, which is new and probably not a bad type combination. Alsoalso Disguise (basically an automatic one-use Substitute) looks pretty useful, especially if it refreshes when you switch out Mimikyu (which it probably won't, that'd be really annoying, but I can dream).
My favorite pokémon revealed this gen. Definitely getting a spot on my team (please, please be good), and may determine which version I go for (probably isn't a version-exclusive, but if it is...)
Can this please get a happiness-based evolution? And maybe be able to learn Thunder? Please?
Finally, calling it now: The ghosts that become Mimikyu were Raichus who want to be as popular as they were before evolving.

Bewear: This bear has a Tanuki Suit tail. Why.
Also, really? Bewear? Really? Really?
I wanna put Bewear in a tuxedo, and I don't know why.

So, um, overall, kinda divided on this batch. I love Mimikyu more than I probably should, like Bounsweet, have probably-too-high hopes for Wimpod, don't care for Comfey and Bewear, and dislike Mudsdale for some reason.

As for the previously-revealed pokémon, I like all the starters (Rowlet reminds me of Blathers, Litten might end up Fire/Poison and I want this, Popplio is cute, and as I said above, I'm a sucker for cute), Cutiefly (again, I love cute s***), Rockruff (it's a puppy! I wanna hug it!), Togedemaru (actually looks interesting, and has Iron Barbs, so this Pikawannabe'll maybe be worth looking at), Salandit (it can poison everything. I like this), and Magearna (see previous points about cute, and also it's a robot). I don't really dislike any outside of Mudsdale, though there are a bunch I don't particularly care one way or the other about (and also Bruxish, which has a very annoying-sounding ability but otherwise I dunno if I like it or not). Overall tho, I'm looking forward to gen 7.

There is going to be IV training....
No more ridiculous breeding and messed up illogical things in order to get yourself the "perfect" pokemon..

This is probably ONE of the strongest points right here..

There is a teeny weeny problem with that though. It's only accessible to level 100 pokemon and you need some sort of bottle cap item to access it which I heard is quite rare.

Yeah, I realized that after posting.
This questions it more actually. Would this really be quicker than breeding... considering how much more easier they made breeding for us.

After watching that, here are some thoughts:

1) Will there be an Alola form that makes Pikachu better?
1.5) And/Or Raichu? Poor fella's been neglected for too long, the rodent needs something...

2) Exeggutor or whatever is a palm tree. Kinda expected that for Sudowoodo, honestly.
2.3) Exeggutor is now Grass/Dragon. Wut

3) New Vulpix is adorable. Not that old Vulpix wasn't, but the new one is adorabler.
3.5) New Ninetales is Ice/Fairy. That's a thing.

4) New Sandshrew is wearing some kind of Ice Climbers thing (don't remember what it's called). It's not Vulpix 2.0, but I still want.
4.5) New Sandshrew and New Sandslash are Ice/Steel. I dunno how to feel about this.

5) Mongoose-thing's evolution looks like it's gonna be annoying once it starts being encountered in the wild.

6) Who didn't call Mudsdale getting a pre-evolution?

7) Dancing bird thing looks stupid.

8) Minior. I like it. Don't have a reason, don't need a reason.

9) Fomantis/Lurantis disappoints with its lack of bug type, but otherwise I'm cool with it.
9.5) Solar Blade looks good. Is it a physical Solar Beam? Because that's what it looked like to me, and I'd like that.

10) Ride Pokemon. I always wanted this. Just so long as it can be any Pokemon (just so I can ride a Pichu around and look utterly ridiculous). Probably won't be, but I'm still cool with this development.

11) It would appear there are no gyms this time, or at least that's what I got from the whole island challenge thing. I dunno how to feel about this.
11.5) If there isn't a Dark-type specialist somewhere in... whatever the gym-leader equivalent is in the island challenge (I wanna say the kahunas, but I dunno)...

12) Not sure how to feel about Totem Pokemon. On the one hand, they're Pokemon boss fights. On the other hand, they get to call in flunkies and one of them is going to be the new mongoose-thing.

13) Z-Moves. No.

Overall, you had me until Totem Pokemon (which I'm really more on the fence about than actually disliking) and Z-Moves (which... no), Nintendo. Still liking everything else tho, can't wait to see which other old Pokemon get new forms (Like Magmortar! Or Shaymin! Or Flygon (gotta get something sooner or later)! Or Raichu (NEGLECTED FOR TOO LONG)! Or Sunkern/Sunflora (piece-of-s***flower needs help, and now's a good time to give it some)! Or Igglybuff/Jigglypuff/Wigglytuff (mostly so it can be included in Smash, admittedly, but it'd be nice to see a superior Wigglytuff)! Or Cleffa/Clefairy/Clefable (no reason for this one, I just really like the Clefairy line)!)!

Side question: Wonder if we'll get another Eeveelution here. And what type it'll be. Pulling for Poison or Steel-type, personally.

The Alolan Exeggutor looks more like an evolution than an alternate form really. Also I don't quite see the point in making the Vulpix and Sandshrew lines part Ice when the region is based in the tropics. Wouldn't they melt?

Not quite sure what to think of this whole Z-Move thing. It's inoffensive at best and worst, yet there's something about it that just bugs me. Maybe it's that cheesy dance the guy does to get Gigavolt Havoc to work...

There's a neat explanation on pokemon.com that explains why sandslash and ninetales are ice and exeggutor is tall. It has to do with darwinian evolution (real world evolution) where animals change and adapt to new environments. Ninetales and sandslash were forced to move to the mountain tops of alola (where it's cold and snowy as seen on the alola map) whereby evolution took it's course and exeggutor got taller because the species grows larger with more sunlight (pokedex entry) and alola is the suniest region exeggutor's have thrived (they're found everywhere except hoenn, which rivals alola's hot climate).

And yes, i'm extremely hyped for Sun and Moon. I love everything and i'd hate this game if wimpod (and maybe it's evolution) turns out to be useless. I need a new bug for my bug team and a water bug is just what i need.

I think the new kind of 'forms' seems to make sense; especially when it comes to the kind of evolution it's involving.
There's a whole bunch of news that hasn't been revealed yet, I suppose you can call them leaks, but I won't say anything due to spoilers, and people's hatred for them, but I'll just say we may potentially see Gym removals.

As bad as it may sound, it's actually not, and they really are changing this game to make it much more different that the traditional games which I'm sure at one point people were getting tired of in terms of the formula.

The first images from CoroCoro have leaked and have revealed the latest news on Sun & Moon. As always, do note that translations are preliminary while we work on them. The little sandcastle is called Sunabaa while the big one is called Shirodesuna. Both are Ghost/Ground-type. Pre-evolved Bewear is called Nuikoguma and remains Normal/Fighting-type. and the fish is Yowashi is Water-type and appears to have the ability to change its appearance from its Single Form into a larger fish, its School Form. It also confirms Alolan Meowth & Marowak. Alolan Meowth is Dark-type while Alolan Marowak is Fire/Ghost-type.
We also see the first bits of the antagonist team, Team Skull. Its boss is called Guzma and the girl is Plumeri.
--------------------------------------

It also confirms that next month's issue will contain a poster featuring Rockruff's "Secret Evolution".
Alolan Meowth developed after being bred by the royal family of Alola. Alolan Marowak developed in response to its natural predators in order to resist them.
Due to clearer images cropping up, we have a few new descriptions. Nuikoguma is very popular among women and children, and tops the lists of Pokemon people want to meet. It hates being touched and will kick and struggle to resist. It's very powerful, but once it evolves into Bewear it truly gains herculean strength
Sunabaa is a grudge that dwells inside a pile of sand turns into a Pokemon. Truly a terrifying creature
Shirodesuna steals the life force from other Pokemon. Those Pokemon's grudges turn into a new Sunaba.
---------------------------------------------------------

All from serebii.

Thanks for the images Achamo!

The fish/fishes thing:
This is weird. I don't think I understand it at all. I'm confused. I hurt myself in my confusion

The sandcastle Pokemon:
There's a sandcastle now? That's so stu-
Ghost/Ground? A unique type combination? We're cool now... and it looks kind of adorable for some reason. I like this.

The bear before Bewear:
Looks cute-ish. The fact that it evolves into a horrible pun sours this a bit for me tho.

Dark Meowth:
I wanna hug it. Gimme.
This one's probably gonna be version-exclusive, I can feel it. This may decide which version I buy (unless Mimikyu is exclusive, then that will decide it).

Fire/Ghost Marowak:
So, um, is it Fire/Ghost because of Lavender Town? Not that it's important, but I'm just wondering. Cool with this one overall.

Rockruff (I know it was already revealed, but it's the central focus of that one page, so...):
This is adorable! Please make it roll over in Pokemon-Amie! Please!

New villain team:
Team Skull, eh? Is their leader Dr. Wily?

Overall, outside of that weird fish thing, I'm happy with all of these. Especially Alolan Meowth.

Also, semirelevant question: Did the starters get their evolutions revealed yet? I think I saw a leak somewhere, but it might've been fake.

Basically, the fish species comes together to form a school of fish that looks like one large fish. This is probably done to ward off predators and could also make them stronger (the second one is just speculation).

Fire/Ghost Marowak? So long as it isn't the same sluggish SOB that vanilla Wak is, I'm all for it. Dark Meowth, on the other hand... so they made it a pale blue and shrunk its mouth, and that's it? Also seems like it should be part Fairy-type if it was raised to be a royal *****cat.

Now that submarine fish seems interesting. I'm having a bit of a hard time figuring out how its ability is supposed to work out; my best guess is that it's similar to Zygarde's Power Construct ability wherein going below 50% will cause the fish to call upon its buddies to combine. Such a concept kinda eats away at Zygarde's niche, though, so I doubt they're going that route.

I won't lie, baby Bewear looks even derpier (*groan*) than Bewear itself. Its head looks misplaced, like it ought to be a bit lowered; that, and the head itself is so huge that I can't tell that it even has a body. But I did want a red panda-based Pokémon as a kid, so I can live with it.
...actually, looking at the pic of it flailing its arms about, it does look kinda-sorta-mayhaps adorable. I may end up reconsidering my thoughts on the poor thing.

Poor Pikachu getting devoured by the sandcastle ghost, haha. It's a neat twist on the "haunted castle" concept, which I don't think has ever been done before. I'm curious to see how it'll end up.

The Team Skull logo isn't that bad, even if their representatives look less villainous and more... punkish? It's interesting, for sure, but I want to learn more about them before deciding if they're a good idea or not. (As an aside, I dunno where people were getting the idea that Sun & Moon were ditching the Yfel team gimmick.)
