If I were to mention one thing in Salmon Run that irritates me, it's people who knock the Drizzler's ball thing away when I'm clearly lining myself up with it. Let me do my thing, and not only will we not have rain, but the Drizzler will die. I think I mentioned that before, but the complaint still holds true!
That's EXACTLY my point about defeating drizzlers with their own weapon. You can take time lining up the shot, hoping enemies AND allies don't interrupt and potentially waste your time... or you can just shoot it. There's way more factors than the insta-kill for Maws.

I was super excited yesterday to try the only weapon ive been waiting for since i saw the datamines (octobrush nouveau) so i picked up the game for the first time in like a month

So naturally splatoon decided to do everything it could to stop me from having fun! Barely lost my first match because someone on my team disconnected at the start, was winning the second match but in the last minute the system closed the software and told me the game card could not be read. After reinserting it a few times I got online to find i had to wait to be able to play again because disconnecting from a winning match is suuuuper suspicious apparently. And then I lost a match. And the next match I finally won and got through the whole thing! THEN THE GAME DISCONNECTED RIGHT AFTER THE MATCH ENDED AND DIDNT SAVE ANYTHING

Doesn’t help that i was already having a bad day and was trying to cheer up by testing that fun new weapon

But of course, Splatoon Happened

What is wrong with league matchmaking?!

Even with more Japanese accounts filtering into the lobby, even after your power level has been calculated, the league power matchups are still a roller coaster. Twins and quads alike.

Outmatched we'd sometimes face opponents 200~300+ points higher than us. Undermatched we'd face teams 200~600 points below us! In fact during a recent twin session I thought the lowest we'd fight would stay in the 1400s, but no, we got to fight a team in the 1200s! Seriously?! Around 600 points under us! And they fought like it too! That's entirely unfair to them! (fix your squit ninty!!)

Turf this week was brutal. DCs (only one of them mine and that with two JP players in the lobby apparently), massive lag (teleporting squids everywhere, a Flingza I never even SAW until the killcam came up), squaddies everywhere. I blame the east coast weather, since I haven't had a DC since Spawnfest. I finally gave up and went to Salmon Run, which worked a little better.

That being said, I do like the Undercover Brella, it's a fun one to mess around with. I seriously suspect someone on the splat dev team is a Kingsman fan, and I want to shake that person's hand in the worst way XD

My online is working mostly, very rarely disconnected. However, recently, I noticed that I moved very slowly sometimes. I thought it was my controller isn't responding, even its battery wasn't low. Spent in training room for 30 mins; there's nothing wrong with my controller.

Now I realised it is lag. I find it annoying in multiplayer battles. Well, there's no teleporting and saying 'nothing personnel, squid'. But it's even worse in Salmon Run where I walk/swim in slow motion while everything is at normal speed. I've fallen into water while attempt to jump from platform to platform. Meanwhile Salmonids are strolling normally. >_<

It's like my nightmare I had long time ago.

When do people realise that they need to share clams. It's infuriating.
My teammates spend way too much time to get that one clam on the other side of the map and I'd really appreciate some teamwork rather than some of them trying to be hero and get group-splatted instead.
We can't do anything if we are constantly losing all our clams to the enemy team.

Splatfest power makes no sense. I think it chooses a power it wants you to be at, then it'll insist you're at that power. Last Splatfest, it insisted on putting me in 1600 lobbies I bullied. This one, it put me in 2200 lobbies I could barely pull my weight in (sorry teammates). I guess I should be glad I finally made it over the 2000 mark, but it seems more like random chance. Even funnier (I guess the Splatfest system is team Comedy) is that I'm just treating this Splatfest like I generally do Turf War. Just practice being aggressive and work on my gear. Last few I went in more seriously, and I put on gear to help me win.

So....I decide to not worry about Splatfest power this time and just train, and I reach my goal without trying when the last few I struggled to get close despite my best efforts.

Ah well. That's just a minor annoyance. On to the real reason I posted.

I am questioning the best way to approach enemies. I can generally tell when I'm likely to be splatted, so I'll often wait or try to position myself to where I'll have a better chance to take enemies on. When I see alot of other players on the other hand, they just rush forward. There's a Heavy Splatling infront of them? While I'm trying to better approach him, the other players just rush him head-on. The rushers obviously die. There's so many situations I'm in where I'm the only one on the field because I back off during moments where I'm at a clear disadvantage. I had a recent Ranked session where this seemed to be a big thing as well. My allies jumped forward without fear, while I tried to keep pressure from a distance, and then jump in when my allies respawned.

Would things be better if I rush things down with my teammates and possibly help them overcome whatever they're doing? Actually I had a few Turf War sessions where I equipped a bunch of Quick Respawn and jumped in like an idiot, and I somehow won most of my matches despite just mindlessly jumping in every time.

It actually really bothers me when I'm using the heavy splatling and I need to get rid of people just blindly charging toward me. They have no chance of getting me, but they still waste my time with their shenanigans.

From an Action movie, to a disaster film, all the way to a tragedy! The horror!

My splatfest experience has been an all-time awful. In one game i didn't just get the highest amount of kills, i got the only kill, just 1! People who constantly D/C, level 90s sharing lobbies with lvl 7s,Turf War being Turf War and another station map consisting of a single choke. Stop it Marina! Stop it with the chokes!

But this really confirms that the matchmaking isn't just bad, it's flat-out terrible. I know i keep droning on with this, but i literally got Pokefan(who was lvl 9 at the time) with a lvl 17. There's absolutely no bottom to which this matchmaking can sink to, and matches might as well be decided before they are played. When your entire team is on average 20 levels lower there is only so much you can paint on your own compared to an entire team.

Man, I know not everyone has good internet, but if you're getting disconnected too often, can't you take a break? Just had four matches in a row with a disconnect, and I'm pretty sure at least two of them were the same person. C'mon, if you're wanting entertainment, Hero Mode is wifi-free.

This has been my Splat Zones thus far.

-Going on a hot streak with three cracks and being literally a tiny sliver of meter away from hitting S-Rank; Gets headless chickens and an AFK and then proceeds to get stomped in the next match.

-Maintains rank, gets another streak and is now a win away from S-Rank, again with three cracks; Loses the next match after getting the timer to down f***ing 17!

 Arrrrrgggghhhh!!! Quit pulling the football away from me you a***oles!!!

(sorry to nearly double-post, but this is driving me insane. It's a little less fun than game salt, so I put it under a spoiler)
What the heck is wrong with perverts on the game? I saw someone in Salmon Run with the name "Fap2Hentai", and someone else in ranked with "Loli King" as their name. And since they did this with their names, I couldn't report them-the report button is only for posts.

I know I sound like one of those "concerned mother upset at subtle joke" posts, but these aren't just little gags-they're straight-up pornographic terms, and loli is specifically a pedophilic one. This game is literally aimed at children-quit being a creep and go play something else if you're gonna try to expose kids to child porn.

I got curb-stomped by a team that was down a member because another member of said team was vicious with a Krak-On. I don't know whether to feel humiliated or terrified.

Also, inkbrushes exist and I'm not okay with that.

Finally got to play with the new update and decided to test the inkbrush, which I had never used in this game. I won the first battle easily, racking up over 1000 points and 9 splats. I really like this weapon now. Lost the second round because of a disconnect. Also had multiple disconnects while playing salmon run. There is a guarantee to have at least one disconnect every time I play, and it is really starting to bother me. Then there are the teams that just keep moving toward our spawn during a disconnect; at least have some respect.

not too sure why but just today, i've been having several disconnects where either the whole match disconnects or random party members disappeared
it's like i ordered extra salt to go with my clams

...In what universe is "girl character wears a swimsuit" on the same level as "pornography and pedophilia are a-okay topics"? Yes, girls have torsos. That's not new. Boys can go shirtless in games, too, and it's not a problem. That doesn't change the fact that this is an E10 game, developed for and marketed towards a young audience. Just because you think Callie looks hot in a swimsuit doesn't mean they're intentionally including sexual elements, and it certainly doesn't mean Splatoon isn't for kids and that talking about hentai and "loli complexes" are just fine.

To be fair, if you really think about the canon in this series, not a single thing about it would register as kid-friendly. This, after all, does take place in a post-apocalyptic future Earth where it is implied that humanity met its end because of global warming.

But there is some sort of correlation behind the image posted, albeit in a very half-hearted "grasping for straws" kind of way. You know, dirty, impure minds and all.

Dude, don't be weird. Splatoon at it's heart is still a E10+ game, and it clearly caters to that demographic. You're perfectly welcome to enjoy the game as an adult, but don't be a creeper and try to justify ugly behavior like this.

If you want to discuss Splatoon in more mature contexts that's fine, just keep it outside of the game where kids won't have to see that ****.
