I've been tempted to get the Japanese version since I own a Japanese Wii U, but since I've held off this long I might as well wait for December. I'm excited to try it out and explore the world, but I don't know if I'll like the gameplay since I'm not a fan of most RPG's. Is there a demo of similar games on PS4 or 3DS?

(I mean a game that has similar gameplay mechanics)

Man, you're so lucky I wanted to play the Japanese one but I don't have a Japanese console, also I just preferred to wait until I was able to actually read what was going on
I figured the story wouldn't be as good as the original, because sci-fi. I've seen my fair share in the sci-fi genre. But the gameplay still looks lovely to me

Yeah, the gameplay is definitely the highlight of the game.

I actually haven't really played any MMO's either haha.
Is it kind of like Final Fantasy? I haven't played that series either, but if it is and there is a demo then I'll give that a try.

Sorta like... FF14. There's like a 14 day free trial demo for that game.

Whoa, I didn't even know this existed either... awesome! I'm incredibly excited for X, the original is hands down one of my favorite games of all-time, I listen to the music like daily to this day. As much as I'm excited for X, some things turn me off. Like the fact that the main character is an avatar. Maybe it's because I can't get over how awesome Shulk was but... it's just going to be hard adapting to all these new characters.

The most difficult thing has been avoiding spoilers, but I think I've been doing pretty well so far... I'm hoping for the story to be as good, but a friend of mine is giving me mixed signals. At the very least, the gameplay will be great, and I can't wait to just explore too.

Oh boy, enjoy yourself. The game just keeps getting better from where you're at! I can't tell you how many times I wish could replay the game without knowing anything...

aHHH - I am super stoked now! I can't wait to see what the rest of the game has in store n_n too bad I spend so much time on quests ehehe. I all the quests up to this point done - minus the mutually exclusive ones and one search quest I missed on the Bionis Leg -

Take as much time as you need! You don't want the adventure to end... and yeah, the quests that you can miss have always bothered me, but one day I'll keep a guide close and try to 100% the game!

Realistically, my Wii U is going to go from a Splatoon machine to a Xenoblade machine. If the weapon updates really are going to stop cold turkey post January, I'm not entirely sure what I'd be playing for past that. I really hope that isn't the situation.

But hey I guess XenoX will be my next timesink after that so that's a positive.

I haven't played a Xenoblade game before but plan on jumping into Xenoblade X this holiday.

My only concern is the battle system. Is it hard to learn? Looks hard but I'm sure I can learn how to use it.

Pretty simple. Dunno if you played Final Fantasy XII or a traditional MMO, but it is similar.

I've played mmos. I'm familiar with the battle system I guess. (Skills and whatnot.) I plan on having my friend be an escort because I easily get lost in open-world games (in online. Single player I'll have to look real hard at the map.)

I like how you create you own character though instead of using a preset character.
